A short thread on Hedge flailing. This hedge has just been flailed. All of the berries that could have helped feed winter birds have been shaved off. Valuable structure eg from brambles growing at the base, has also been removed.

Prumnopitys andina - Endangered Chilean endemic conifer. This is no normal hedge being cut by @duncanyoung16@TheBotanics. It comprises 50 individuals from 30 wild trees - but most no longer survive in Chile due to logging and flooding of valleys for hydroelectric power!
