"Specifically, they're seeking greater transparency around trip rates and earnings, improved health and safety protections, as well as fair processes when it comes to account deactivations."

@HalSinger Same situation in the city of Toronto and the GTA. Drivers sitting for hours waiting for a ride. Sometimes they stack up practically on top of each other. Frustration and despair is rampant. While the cities ignore the problems, especially the City of Toronto @MayorOliviaChow
As in Toronto, LA uber workers support a limit to licensing. Instead, this province & our city sponsors uber's plan to flood the market with drivers until pay disappears. With that comes other major negative impacts on the environment, traffic, road safety and transit.

RDAO was invited by the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics (ETHI) to appear as a witness of its study of privacy practices of delivery and rideshare applications. George Wedge, President appeared on our behalf!
Big day for drivers today. The reports “2024 Review of the Vehicle-for-Hire Bylaw and Industry” and “Analysis of Driver Wages in the Vehicle-for-Hire Industry” will be publicly available on Tuesday, December 3 on the City’s website at: https://t.co/eNUKfewkKS.
On Thanksgiving Day Uber & Lyft drivers frustrations with Uber's new upfront pricing controlled by AI that was rolled out on Oct 8, erupted into a protest at Pearson Airport. We have been collecting data from drivers and we are already seeing a reduction in already low pay
Frustration is high with even lower pay, decreasing amount of work available with a city that has had poor regulations. In support of our brothers and sisters who are trying to support their families, we are standing with those drivers who have organized the protest
We have issued an advisory to Boycott the 407 ETR for drivers in the GTA as Uber continues to refuse to reimburse drivers for tolls. This has been going on for far too long with some drivers out hundreds of dollars! @Uber_Canada@GigWorkersUnite@ridefairTO@laurakmiller
A driver has been deacivated for refusing to take a customer on the 407ETR because he knew he would not be reimbursed by Uber for the fees. @JoshMatlow@ausmalik@MikeColleTo
The gig economy is indicative of the problem. You don't have shitty wages because of migrants, you have shitty wages because the govt lets companies like Uber get away with the hyper-exploitation of all workers, white and black, migrant and non-migrant.
