1v1 | Reacting to Your Mark

🎯Aim:

➡️ React quickly to the 1v1 moment and identify the player to mark.
Set-Up:

➡️ On a 20 by 20 space sectioned up into quarters. Position 4 attacking players on the outside of the circle and two defenders on the inside.

👕 Teams: ⚫️s Defending, 🔴s Attacking

🗣️ How to Play:

▶️ 2 x defender (black) start in the middle of the circle. Attackers (Red) are numbered and on the outside of the circle.

▶️ Coach calls out 2 numbers, 1 to 4, then those attackers must dribble from the quarter they are in to the diagonally opposite quarter.

▶️ The defender must react to stop them, regain the ball and dribble out of the quarter of the circle where the attack started.

🚧 Constraints:

🏆Reward: If the defender wins the ball and passes out to their spare teammate on the outside or dribbles out of the circle, they knock a goal off the attacker’s score ⚽️.

👨‍🏫 Review: The defender’s ability to react to the attackers and close the space effectively.

🚫 Restriction: The attacker has a time limit to get off the pitch, or they lose the chance to score.

🗣️ This is a practice called ‘Rondo into Cutbacks’ from https://t.co/lciQlqgz7Y Drill Library. Play starts with a 4v2 rondo in the central area. The team of 4 in possession must complete a minimum of five passes before playing a pass into either of the two wide players positioned on the outside. Upon successfully passing the ball into the wide players, they will initiate a 3v2 attack, with the two wide players and the centre forward attacking against two defenders. If the defending team in the rondo manages to win possession while being outnumbered 2v4, they can counterattack and attempt to score in the main goal.

🗣️ On a 25 by 25-yard space. Quarter up the pitch and offset a mini goal on each side of the square.

👕 Teams: ⚫️s vs 🔴s. Plus 🔵 support.

⏭️ How to Play:

✔️ The ⚫️ are on the outside and score with a pass into the 🔵 who passes out to a different ⚫️.

✔️The 🔴a regain the ball and score in any mini-goal.

✔️ ⚫️s try to block the mini goals but they are fixed to the line of the pitch they can’t drop into the goals

🚧 Constraints:

🏆Reward: 1 touch to pass in and out of the middle is double goals.

👨‍🏫 Review: Ball speed and passing accuracy.

🚫 Restriction: two touch on outside

✔️⚫️s work through the passing patterns. They pass and follow around to the next zone.

🗣️ How to play:

✔️ Players work through the following passing patterns:

1️⃣ Pass and follow (back foot receiving focus)

2️⃣ Pass- Set - Slide

🚧 Constraints:

🏆Reward: Add mini goals to the patterns and players score in the mini goal when they return back to start point.

👨‍🏫 Review: Back foot receiving, fast and firm passing, setting up the next action with your touch.

🚫 Restriction: time limit to get around the passing circuit.
