FPVs and Molniya are becoming more common, and glide bomb strikes will likely only increase. 🇸🇪 A Tiny Missile Could Solve Europe’s Drone Defence Crisis.

🇸🇪 Swedish aerospace startup Nordic Air Defence (NAD) has unveiled The Kreuger Drone Interceptor System, a low-cost mini-missile designed to counter swarms of UAVs.

🇸🇪 The interceptor has been unveiled at a time when the West is looking at a safe, reliable, and effective solution to the drone issue. The use of Drones in the Russia-Ukraine and the U.S.-Israel wars has showcased their destructive capability.

🇸🇪 The Kreuger 100 uses a battery-powered propulsion system and software-defined flight control, replacing much of the conventional onboard hardware with advanced control algorithms and intelligent aerodynamics, reducing the cost and complexity of each unit.

🇸🇪 The interceptor incorporates an infrared tracking system capable of operating around the clock, including in varied weather conditions such as cloud cover and at night, to help discriminate and pursue aerial targets.

🇸🇪 This tracking capability, paired with its software-centric architecture, manages target detection, classification and engagement without reliance on expensive conventional sensors, cameras, or complex guidance hardware common in traditional missiles, according to Army Recognition.

On July 25, an initial onsite inspection by the NASA Madrid Deep Space Communications Complex (MDSCC) emergency response team found wildfire damage primarily to pavement and surrounding vegetation, with no significant structural damage observed to antennas or buildings.

Additional inspections and testing will continue as safety procedures allow. The situation remains dynamic, and comprehensive assessments will proceed as conditions stabilize and access improves.

Meanwhile, NASA's Space Communications and Navigation (SCaN) Program has seamlessly transitioned mission support to its other Deep Space Communications Complexes in Goldstone, California and Canberra, Australia, ensuring continuity of operations and uninterrupted spacecraft communications.

The safety of NASA personnel remains the agency's highest priority. All personnel at MDSCC are safe, and NASA extends its sincere gratitude to Spanish emergency responders and members of The Ministry of Defense, The Ministry of Interior, and The Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities for their professionalism and tireless efforts in helping protect the facility under extremely challenging conditions.

NASA is also thinking of its partners at the European Space Agency (ESA), whose colleagues continue to be affected by the broader wildfire emergency.   

NASA will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates as new information becomes available.

Ukrainian military correspondent Yulia Kirienko is publicly disputing the official casualty figures from Thursday's Russian ballistic missile strike on a defense-industry demo day near Kyiv, arguing the true toll is far higher than reported.

She says the "10 killed" figure only reflects bodies recovered.

Search dogs are still on site because two to three missiles hitting open ground "tore some people into molecules" and that with over 300 people present, the wounded are in the hundreds, not the official ~100.

The strike hit an ARMADA-organized drone and anti-drone tech demonstration at a Kapitanivka training range in Bucha district.

Russia claims it deliberately targeted Ukrainian drone developers.

Zelensky said the event "should never have taken place" and prosecutors have opened a parallel probe into possible negligence over its operational security.

Russia wants to receive another 30,000 troops from North Korea. Since June, preparations have been underway in Russia’s Voronezh region to receive them. North Korea is also preparing to transfer additional launchers for ballistic missiles to Russia.

This is a threat not only to Ukraine. Russia is helping North Korea learn how to wage war, improve its weapons, and gain real combat experience in using them. All of this is a threat to everyone in Asia who is within range of North Korean missiles.

Based on current information, the Cebreros station appears to have remained unharmed. My deepest thanks go to the Spanish emergency services whose efforts helped protect the site as wildfires approached.
