More programs like AFCTN should be created for adoptees and adoptive families! Many children like Ramya deal with mental illness and trauma. Every child should have access to therapy esp. those that have been placed in foster care. #SUsocialwork
Professionals & adoptees alike are highlighting the importance of professional, trauma-informed, attachment-based mental health support for adoptees & adoptive families, at an early age. Thank you Ramya and other adoptees for bravely sharing your stories with us at #ncfacon2021.
@Ssims2Shay @YouTube This is a perfect example of why mental health is SUPER important. People need to understand the difference between feeling depressed and having clinical depression! #SUsocialwork
@Jessphelpss PRISONERS HAVE RIGHTS. Wow, I canโt believe people would allow this torture. Someone must be held accountable and safeguards implemented to prevent this from happening! #SUsocialwork
@PThomas928 This is a great job, allowing people without transportation to receive goods and services. The way gas prices look this is good alternative ๐ Also, helping the environment with less cars on the road!! #SUsocialwork
Despite the crisis within housing UACs until adjudication, costing billions. All children deserve the right to due process. Many are forced to represent themselves in immigration court, CHILDREN. Often times get deported back to horrific situations or worse killed. #SUsocialwork
President Joe Biden is expanding the ability for Unaccompanied Alien Children (UACs) in the United States to secure legal representation. https://t.co/nzWhwdfO9N
Covid-19 pandemic has cost housing insecurity around the US. Many have been evicted and left homeless. There is a serious need to maintain funds to support those that are behind on the rent or mortgage until they are back on there feet. #SUsocialwork

@SheenayAdams Staying connected is huge in supporting this effort. Reaching out to ones we love and care about. People need to realize that helping others adds purpose and joy in ones heart. We need to end the sayings of โtrust no oneโ and โdo it yourself.โ #SUsocialwork
@alyssa_thawley I agree, there are preventative measures for those who do not want to get the vaccine such as masking and weekly covid testing. You can not take basic freedoms from Americans and there ability to choose. #SUsocialwork
This tax credit lifted 3.5 million kids out of poverty with the first two checks. Now, lawmakers want to cut this benefit from families w children to 2022 instead of 2025. No child should have to live in poverty, anyway we can prevent that should be the initiative. #SUsocialwork
If CTC is extended through 2025, it could bring child poverty rate down to 8.4%. As co-founder & co-chair of the @EconomicSecProj@nataliefoster said โwhen something works, you grab it and you run and you build on itโ https://t.co/aSuR8AuTDM
@SUSowkJoeRuffo Those that have been incarcerated are stigmatized and provided with limited resources in the US. This statistic you have listed is INSANE. When no one will hire you and wonโt allow housing what are you able to do?โฆsomething must change. #SUsocialwork
@PThomas928 This story is very upsetting. I am not impressed with the coordination from police department and child welfare services.
It was a โmistakeโ made by special victims detective not reporting for police to make home visit after reports of abuse? This is inexcusable. #SUsocialwork
Portugal is a great example of the effects of decriminalizing drugs. The solution is rehabilitation and drug education. Not only will this help the mass incarceration problem but could save many lives. #SUsocialwork
