Hello, Moon. It’s great to be back.
Here’s a taste of what the Artemis II astronauts photographed during their flight around the Moon. Check out more photos from the mission: https://t.co/rzM1P0QbOl
Crucial paper published Friday that deserves much more attention in the #LongCOVID world: https://t.co/baSXgWXo80.
TLDR: 13/15 immunocompromised patients who had chronic COVID infections (>200 days) cleared the virus in under 2 weeks when given combo antivirals/monoclonals

By studying samples analyzed by the Curiosity rover, scientists have taken another step toward understanding whether life could have ever existed on Mars.
A new study suggests that non-biological sources cannot fully account for the abundance of organic compounds found in a sample collected by the rover.

I think a lot of long COVID sufferers are sleeping on high dose creatine supplementation. For me it's been helping SO MUCH w managing my crashes. Yesterday I did 5 hours of coaching calls. Normally, that would wipe me out for an entire day AT LEAST

@ryan49081185535@Moooonflash@healingfromlc this is correct. A lot of studies have shown that if administered at low doses like 6g once weekly it strengthens antiviral gene expression, interferon response, improves T-cell exhaustion and thus can also support in controlling persistent viral infection.
“At least 2/3 of individuals with Long COVID contained [SARS-CoV-2] infected megakaryocytes,” says Dr. Morgane Bomsel. “This suggests that megakaryocytes form reservoirs in LC patients—which may produce platelets sheltering infectious SCV2.”
A long course of Paxlovid appears to help some patients with #LongCOVID, according to a case series by UC San Francisco researchers that suggests this treatment option holds promise for some of those struggling with debilitating symptoms. 1/

OOHHHH WOW! New preprint on the host immune response in Long Covid was just posted (few hours ago), and it's more significant than the 3-gene signature!
They found reactivation of viral herpes (EBV/CMV/HSV2) and CONFIRMED PERSISTENT SARS-CoV-2 INFECTIONS! Here's a summary...

Breaking!: Research published today in Science Translational Medicine and supported by PolyBio Research Foundation shows that the #SARS-CoV-2 virus can chronically persist in the gut of patients with long COVID for over 2 years: https://t.co/rYAT9BHKqe
I am increasingly worried about bird flu - it has pandemic potential
96 cow herds in 12 states
3 human cases so far - one with respiratory symptoms
This can and must be contained - if lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic are heeded

Stellar summary of a stellar study on #MECFS:

It all looks like the key to understanding ME/CFS lies in a dysfunctional (mostly absent) stress response. Upon extertion, the body tissues are thus left without protection and the immune system goes bonkers.
