Visited wildfire-affected areas in Lattakia yesterday. Impressed by the tireless efforts of @SYRedCrescent teams working side by side with local authorities and emergency services to protect lives and contain the damage. In the West Bank, the situation is deteriorating. Buildings are being destroyed, leaving many families without their home and belongings. @PalestineRCS volunteers, are hindered by movement restrictions making it difficult for them to provide critical life-saving aid. (1/2)

In MENA region, where disasters strike fast and hard, we must act faster.
Eerlier today, @SYRedCrescent has provided the national hospitals in Dara'a and Nawa with trauma and emergency surgical kits supported by @IFRC_MENA. This was carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Health and it enables both hospitals to perform 100 emergency surgical operations.

Our commitment as @ifrc is and will always be to strengthen national societies local capacity, scale early action, and speed up response.

🚨The Palestine Red Crescent Society is devastated by the killing of eight of its EMTs in Rafah, who were targeted by the Israeli army while performing their humanitarian duties. They were responding to an emergency call to assist the wounded following Israeli airstrikes in the Al-Hashashin area of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

A ninth EMT remains missing and is believed to have been detained.

The names of the ambulance crew members who were killed are:
