You know when @spencer drives 4 hours last night in the dark to visit you in brutal cold Binghamton NY for an hour at dinner to explain his vision for the future of @moonbirds then turns right back around and drives straight back home another 4 hours you know he’s very serious about his community and project. Made a large investment last night to help play my part and show my full support and confidence to it. Very excited to add 200 Moonbirds to my collection and become one of the largest holders. send/receive update

There are over 1000 tokens configured with a sprite and set to send and over 500 set to receive on the send/receive network.

8968 editions were minted for free over the claim window and I set the final edition size to a clean 10k.

The remaining mints will be used as an onboarding mechanism to introduce on chain interactive and participatory art to new people as I continue on my mission to make what we do around here interesting and compelling to new audiences.

Seeing this many people interact with the work has been super meaningful, and I'm excited to keep expanding on the project over time.

I particularly enjoyed having my kids log into @artblocks with an email which generates a @privy_io embedded wallet and guiding them through the process of purchasing a mint off secondary and configuring it (after I funded the wallet with a bit of ETH).

Once they set it up they ran to the living room where we have a receiving token set up and watched and waited until their's appeared. We sit around and watch the live view often pointing out all the fun sprites but when they saw theirs they got REALLY excited and continue to do so as they walk past it and see their contribution every day.

I think there's something really interesting about all this. Seeing yourself in a networked artwork like this seems to be compelling to folks, and I am excited to watch the network of sprites grow over time. I'm especially excited about the perpetual nature of the work, and the fact that all of the information and logic is on chain in a way where it should continue to operate as long as the @ethereum blockchain continues to produce blocks.

Am also shocked at how cheap the customization of it is. You're storing a lot of info on chain for less than $1. Was always worried about this being on L1 and I know we can't count on this forever but really really pleased with the low cost to participate.

If you have a token and haven't set it up yet just know it's super easy and smooth thanks to the Art Blocks UI that the team built. But if you're still intimidated maybe consider commissioning your favorite pixel artist to create a sprite for you.

Anyways make sure and check into a live view every now and then to see all the sprites that have been created by the community. Change up your send/receive state or swap out your sprite when you're feeling it. I hope you're enjoying the experience of on chain participatory networked art as much as I am.

Dear friends, I’m excited to share our final and most ambitious AI arts project for 2025 — Machine Dreams: Biophilia, commissioned by Google for their new headquarters, Gradient Canopy.

The project began nearly two years ago to support Large Nature Model research. To create this work, Refik Anadol Studio collected 2 petabytes of audio and imagery from four distinct California biomes by traveling through the Redwoods, Ocean, Bay, and Foothills. It was combined with publicly available ecological datasets to train our Large Nature Model (LNM) sustainably in Google Cloud using renewable energy.

Local weather data from each biome is used in real time to generate text prompts in the latest Gemini, guiding the LNM’s exploration of the datasets. As the weather changes, so do the dreamed images and evolving soundscapes, reflecting nature’s constant motion—a living AI Data Painting that harmonizes perfectly with nature. The breakthrough technology behind the artwork will also power Dataland, and I cannot wait to share more soon. I am deeply grateful to the team that worked so hard on this epic and unique project, and to Google Leadership and scientists for their ongoing support of our studio since 2015!

This is a rant/desperate plea for the digital art space...

The buyers experience for new entrants is awful. There is no way to buy simple baskets of art to gain exposure to make it easy to start. No one knows how to enter the space. No one makes it easy. I get asked this every day - "how do I start ?". We fail them.

Even if we say buy a Punk, it's not easy. The experience is awful.

There is no easy curation for newbies. Where does someone start? We fail them.

There is no quality curation for existing collectors. No AI that says "hey you love this style, have you seen this". We fail them.

People can't show their art without integrating yet another app and connecting it.

You store your art in a different place too. Some art doesnt show there because the token is not supported. We fail them.

You might borrow against your art on a different place too. It's far from full integration. We fail here too.

You get liquidity maybe even in another place. More mess...

Private sales are on a who you know basis. New serious buyers have no idea how to do this. We help no one except as individuals.

There are 3 main market places. No one know why to use one vs an other. They don't help anyone start or build. All are a mess.

Artists mint across various platforms and that fragments further.

Many mints are not on decentralized storage so you have that risk too.

Artist are struggling to showcase work. There is no way to curate for collectors of artists, styles, price points etc. Discovery is a shit show

On-phone display is a mess too with different solutions but nothing that integrates with storage and screen display due to lack of integration.

Then there are all the chains that art is listed on getting fragmented too. You can't see all your art in one place on your phone.

Anyone show art has an issue with indexing too. No one does a good cross chain job of it.

I could do on... It's a fucking shit show.

This NEEDS to get solved via consolidation of players and a cohesive vision for the art space.

It is so fucking obvious how big this will all be but everyone is holding it back by a lack of vision and capital (due to lack of vision)

I've spoken to most of you but the inertia is exhausting. Anyone who builds this can raise all the capital they need.

We need a home for artists and collectors. It doesn't exist. It's a mess. We can do so much better if we consolidate and work to a common goal.

Also, stop launching tokens ! It's a zero value cash grab that fails every time.
