“Students who attend these schools can take classes that align with their interests- often resulting in students to choose a major so that they can further specialize their course schedule and prepare for college and a career” (M. Holley).
As you can see based off of this photo, charter schools have smaller class sizes compared to a traditional public school. This results in teachers having a more personal relationship with their students. Smaller class sizes also creates a good community for your students.
Charter schools provide specific curriculum for students who are struggling in certain subjects. Teachers are able to provide a more custom-fit learning experience for their students.
“Funded on a per-pupil basis with government funds and can sometimes receive private funding but typically receive less funding overall” (Charter) “Funded partially through state budget funding but primarily through local taxes (public) -help our charter schools gain funding
@cmorrinauctee We need to ensure that every culture is represented in our classrooms. Whether that is having many reading books that discuss the cultures or having specific days where we recognize each culture.
@mgh0045au I think that teachers need to make it their priority to ensure that their students know each other super well. By this, students will become comfortable with each other and will engage on their schoolwork.
"And if, by our being here, we could help the people of the world remember what truly matters for the Earth, that would give us a quiet pleasure" (Higashida 111). Naomi is talking about all the bad in the world and how people with autism are travelers. #auctee3100book21
@cmorrinauctee I think that what the teacher should do to ensure that a debate stays civil is for the teacher to be as involved with the discussion as they can be. The students need to raise their hand when they want to talk and their volume level should be capped at a certain level.
@AnneDoxtader It could be destructive to a child's identity when they are constantly completing work that involves an individual that is a different race than they are. It prohibits a child to truly connect with the character, which will cause them to become disinterested in the book.
CONT!! How can we as educators know if our students with Autism are hurting on the inside when they look all right on the outside?

“Even though it looks as if we’re frolicking about and having the best time, inside we’re aching and hurting because we know we don’t have control over what our own bodies are doing” (Mitchell 100). People with autism have a hard time showing the correct emotions.
@cmorrinauctee I think it would be very beneficial to find a small activity we like that will help teach that lesson so that we can seem passionate about that certain topic.
@hannahp_au I believe by providing incentives for the students you will motivate them to work harder. This question is similar to our tutoring at dean elementary school. Every time one of our students completes a task he/or she get to move their thing up a level. This keeps them involved.
"but for us - who are always causing the problems and are useless as pretty much everything we try to do- you can't begin to imagine how miserable and sad we get" (Mitchell 43). Disabled people's feelings get over looked. Why do you think they get overlooked? #auctee3100book21
@nyberg_bailey Unfortunately, we believe what the world tells us. We let the stereotypes that have been created by society to influence our minds into becoming bias against people of color.
@CallieAntonCTEE By implementing different writing prompts about their personal lives, I believe that students will become excited for their various writings.
“But because things never, ever go right, we end up getting used to being alone, without even noticing this is happening” (Mitchell 27). How can we let people slip through the cracks and not feel welcomed? #auctee3100book21
