@_fandomroyalty_ @sbpaessler@Thedarkking3601 I honestly think that her descent into madness is potentially the richest part of the story & 2 seasons where some friends/advisors betrayed her for more fleshed out reasons & losing others in war to less goofy circumstances would be beautiful. Not this michael bay-esque nonsense
@_fandomroyalty_ @sbpaessler@Thedarkking3601 No, I'm fine with Dany's behavior. The cartoonish joke plot that they wrote removing all of her allies to drive her to madness is what I have a problem with. Euron is literally a zero depth children's villain who's done 80% of the work to drive her over the edge. Thats stupid
@_fandomroyalty_ @sbpaessler@Thedarkking3601 I like that rationale for why he'd behave in a way that's out of character, but it doesnt explain why he'd put the ridiculous faith in cersei that is completely at odds with everything he's ever experienced. Esp since it puts him at odds w/ Dany
@_fandomroyalty_ @sbpaessler@Thedarkking3601 Those are the things I have a problem with. Tyrion has been wary of (& warning others about) cersei's treachery for yrs now & he all of sudden forgets everything he knows about her at the exact moment that its convenient for the writers to use to drive dany over the edge. Lazy
@sbpaessler @_fandomroyalty_ @Thedarkking3601 I.e. the entire reason she is insane is because of lazy writing. I'm fine with her behaving the way she did in this episode. I'm not fine with the way the writers crafted this idiotic narrative that got her here.
@sbpaessler @_fandomroyalty_ @Thedarkking3601 You're missing my point. I'm not saying Dany is illogical. I'm saying the reason she is out of allies is because they either behaved in a way that doesn't make any sense, either logically or from a character standpoint, or they were defeated by cartoon bad guy Euron...
@sbpaessler @_fandomroyalty_ @Thedarkking3601 We're talking about 2 totally different things. You're talking about where the story is at this point in time, I'm talking about how it arrived at that point and how stupid it is.
@_fandomroyalty_ @sbpaessler@Thedarkking3601 Things like Tyrion turning into a complete buffoon all of a sudden, or the ridiculous plot engineering of having cartoon villain Euron kill a dragon with laser guided scorpions and inexplicably capture missandei (when she was on grey worm's ship) in the same episode
@_fandomroyalty_ @sbpaessler@Thedarkking3601 No, you're really missing the point. Everyone is ok w/ her going mad. What's infuriating is that the writers chose to have nearly every character on the show behave in a way that was either competely illogical or inconsistent with their portrayal in every other season
@sbpaessler@Thedarkking3601 Missandei's capture is a great example. Everything that led up to it and followed it made no sense, and were overly simplistic writing constructs designed to give Dany another cheap catalyst to go insane over the course of an episode
@sbpaessler@Thedarkking3601 No one has a problem with that. The problem is that everything that has driven her to that point were completely lazy plot constructs that make no sense and were condensed into 2 hours of showtime
@_fandomroyalty_ @sbpaessler@Thedarkking3601 You're missing the point. No one is dissapointed that Dany is the villain. We're disappointed that they turned her into a villain by having nearly every character behave in a way that is completely inconsistent with how they've behaved for years.
@sbpaessler@Thedarkking3601 Incorrect. I'm referring to the hot trash blitzkrieg that the show writers used to turn her into a villain in the span of 2 hours
