The Smithfield-China lobbying cover-up scandal I exposed last week just got worse.

Just 24 hours after my exclusive viral story last week about how China-owned Smithfield’s @SmithfieldFoods @SmithfieldBrand longtime lobbyist from @GT_Law Greenberg Traurig hid the company’s Chinese ties and was forced to report it after a watchdog complaint, Smithfield’s lobbying disclosure was amended AGAIN on Sept. 3 to ERASE any mention of the company’s CCP-linked Chinese owner 万洲国际 (WH Group).

This is super shady.

Here’s the timeline:

On July 20, Smithfield lobbyist Christopher DeLacy at Greenberg Traurig @GT_Law checked "NONE" on the foreign-interest disclosure box when asked on a federal form whether his lobbying for Smithfield to influence the Farm Bill and allow China to own U.S. farm land benefited any foreign interests. They wrote the same thing on all disclosure reports dating back to 2023.

On August 18, after a watchdog group filed a federal complaint, the disclosure form was amended and resubmitted to add that Smithfield’s Chinese owner 万洲国际 (WH Group) had an interest in the lobbying.

Then, on September 3, one day after I exposed the coverup and it went viral, the firm submitted another amendment to its lobbying disclosure that completely deleted any mention of Smithfield’s Chinese owner (after adding it 2 weeks earlier).

What the hell is going on? Smithfield is 87% owned by China. Their CCP-connected Chinese owner obviously has an interest in their lobbying on the Farm Bill, the Save Our Bacon Act, and other efforts to give Communist China more control of the US food supply.

With the next Farm Bill vote approaching soon, Smithfield’s lobbyist’s cover-up of the company’s Chinese ties is extremely alarming and needs to be investigated immediately.

Congress, the Trump Treasury Department and the American people deserve the truth about the extent of China’s dangerous influence over our agriculture and food policy.

The most important thing Americans have forgotten is that our Revolution wasn't fought against the British to establish a better government.

America was founded to establish freedom from all governments.

People have come to America, from every other country on earth, for freedom: to pursue their own happiness, to worship their own God, and to escape tyranny.

That dream, the dream of America as a place where the individual was sovereign died slowly... and then... with the beginning of the American Empire (called the Civil War today) it has been erased from memory. Most Americans have no idea that entire purpose of our country was to make sure that the government had to leave you alone; not so that the latest elected buffoon could promise you $5,000 that he first stole from another citizen.

You have God given, inalienable rights. You have a right to your property. You have a right to your body. You have the right to say what you want, to associate with whom you choose, to arm yourself and to protect yourself, to be free from unreasonable searches or seizures, to a jury of your (actual) peers... and... most importantly... all power that's not explicitly granted to the Federal government is reserved for the States and the people.

They have forgotten that, completely.

It's time to remind them.

High fructose corn syrup is in our bread, our sauces, our drinks, our snacks, driving obesity, diabetes, and chronic disease across this country for decades. Other nations use real sugar.

America chose a cheaper, heavily processed substitute and we are paying for it with our health.

Our bill will also require HHS, through the FDA, to report back to Congress on industry reformulation efforts and any additional steps needed. This is the government finally doing its job by removing the harmful additive from the market, instead of protecting the industries profiting from making us sick.

China-owned Smithfield Foods controls 1,600 pig farms across 10 states, 25% of the U.S. pork market, and about 85,000 acres of American farmland.

This Chinese owned pork company has been lobbying Democrats and Republicans in support of @RepAshleyHinson and Sen. @SenJoniErnst's Save Our Bacon Act, H.R. 4673.

That bill would overturn voter-approved state animal-welfare laws, block similar laws in the future, and would allow China to keep owning U.S. farmland.

Why are we allowing brutal and inhumane Chinese style pig confinement and Chinese ownership of US farmland under a GOP controlled Congress?

Hinson and Ernst have taken campaign cash from Smithfield.

So why do Republicans keep saying they will not allow China to own our farmland when they clearly have no problem with that as long as the campaign checks are big enough?

As some of you may be aware, we will likely be importing more cheap foreign beef in order to cut the cost at the grocery store for the consumers-this is likely a midterm election strategy as people don’t vote for incumbents when food is too expensive

The down stream effect of this is that it will likely cause many American ranchers to go out of business unless additional help is sent their way

In the mean time, if you can afford to do so, please buy directly from ranchers if you can-it might be the difference between them going out of business or surviving to keep on doing what they do the best in the world, producing high quality beef!

To all the Supermarkets and big commercial stores that operate 'Self Check-outs'....

You are heading towards almost exclusively self-checkout now. Yesterday I went shopping at one such store and the lady checking receipts at the exit was stopping everyone.

I didn't choose to participate in that nonsense, I had already filled my trolly, emptied my trolly and scanned the items, refilled my trolly, and so I just skipped the exit line and left.

I heard her saying "Umm - Excuse me “ as I kept walking and raised the receipt above my head, leaving the store.

You can either trust me to do self-checkout, or you can put your cashiers back in place like it used to be.

• I'm not interested in proving that I did your job for you.

• If you want me to be a cashier with no training then that's your problem not mine.

• Keep employing young people and give them job opportunities.
