We’re grateful to @BillGates for standing up for global health in front of the U.S. Senate. As he said: “Global health aid saves lives. And when that aid is withdrawn—abruptly and without a plan—lives are lost.” This is why U.S. leadership on global health matters.
I urge @SecRubio to distribute the $340 million in American-grown food currently stalled in U.S. ports to reach those in need.
Time is running out before this life-saving aid perishes.
As we come to the end of an extremely challenging year, all of us @CARE continue to take heart, inspiration & direction from the amazing women around the world whose individual and group actions are helping families and communities survive and thrive.

“Inaction is a choice. By failing to meet two critical year-end deadlines – finalizing an FY25 budget and passing an effective Farm Bill – millions of people facing global poverty and hunger will continue to live in uncertainty." -@RituAtCARE https://t.co/4a0VAevgkk
In the U.S., it's #ElectionDay
A moment for citizens to have their say
Let's choose love, not hate
This makes us great
And embrace one another, whatever comes our way
Excited to join the launch of the US Strat. on Global Development today - agree with @PowerUSAID that we must focus on cost effectiveness and that "we want our funds to go as far as possible." Women and girls everywhere are counting on us!
Terrific to lift up humanitarian leadership “in boots & in suits” last night in NYC. So grateful to work with dedicated colleagues, donors & Board members who make it possible for @CARE to bring help & hope to millions around the world. @Deepmala_Mahla@radhikajones@stengel
Local groups of women acting together. This is where the magic is happening ✨
Honored to have participated in this piece from @BrookingsInst about the importance of women-led localization to create lasting change.

For 40 years, the #GlobalGagRule has played politics with the health & lives of women, girls & vulnerable individuals around the 🌍. Without permanent repeal through the #GlobalHERAct, nothing will stop a future president from instituting this policy again.
Thank you @SenatorCardin, MFAN leaders @RituAtCARE, @OKeefeCRS & community partners for joining us last evening on Capitol Hill to honor @USAID’s Mission Directors and their tireless work to build a more secure, just & prosperous world. Wonderful to honor these public servants!
Delighted to see @SenatorCardin last night at MFAN reception.
@USAID's mission Directors are on the front line of 🇺🇸 leadership. @ModernizeAid is working hard to to make US assistance more flexible, efficient, & impactful so they can focus on doing the most good in the world🌎
Thank you, @SenateApprops, for your bipartisan commitment to US international aid. This bill reflects the importance of US leadership to lift up communities around the world. We can invest now or deal with instability later. Now is better. I urge Congress to pass this budget!
This morning, I spoke with advocates from @CARE in advance of their annual Hill Day about the importance of their work combatting global food insecurity and empowering women and girls.
So inspired by @CARE advocates this week as we learned best practices to amplify the voices of those most in need around the world. With global crises and extreme poverty rising investing in resilient, women-led communities is more crucial than ever.
A hand-up for one woman led to a better future for her entire family. That’s what Food for Peace does and has for 70 YEARS! We can’t afford to slash this vital program now. I call on @TomColeOK04, @PattyMurray, @RosaDeLauro & @SenatorCollins to strengthen & fund Food for Peace.
🧵Imagine this: A helping hand for a woman in Bangladesh meant all THREE of her daughters could go to school. Here’s how ➡️ A U.S.-funded program in Khadiza’s village gave her on-farm training and a loan to buy and rear goats.
5 years later, Khadiza is growing pumpkins and onions and rearing poultry, which provides enough income for her family to build a new house and for their three daughters’ education costs. Khadiza also has a voice in decision-making as an income-earning family member.
It is essential to recognize the vital roles women play during conflict, as humanitarian first responders, stewards of healthcare & food, peacemakers. We need them at the heads of tables where policies & decisions are made. #womensleadership My @wef op-ed: https://t.co/hps5MV4UcW
