Noah Gibbs (@codefolio) has passed away.

His big dream in life was to help build the Ruby community up. He wanted to be like the folks who worked to create the railroads during the industrial revolution. He thought Ruby was the best way to do (fill in the blank) and he wanted to share his knowledge as widely as possible. His kindness and generosity extended into every corner of his life.

Noah's passing was sudden and very fast. He did not suffer. He is survived by his wife and children.

Scrum encourages sizing tasks as a team. Teams bloat estimates to avoid “blowing” the sprint. So, estimates are heavily padded.

Result? People pretend they’re working.

The solution:
Stop focusing on “doing scrum”.
Instead, focus on serving customers.

I’m completely blown away by some of the sophisticated linguistic inferences I’ve seen it make, but automating “being confidently wrong” feels more like an accelerant than a solution to some pretty large problems

I think most people who see ChatGPT and think "Huh, neat, but not really more than a toy" aren't playing forward the 6-18 months it takes scaled product teams to start integrating LLMs into a few pilot projects and then 2~4 product cycles, after which it will be in *so much.*
