Lover of watching people argue politics on S/M. Retired Marine GySgt. I hate spiders but have no problem water boarding them. BOSTON! Love that dirty water.
I do not have a lot of followers but if this reaches the one person who needs it, this tire fire of a platform has done its good deed.
I painfully watched my mother take her last breath today after a long fight with dementia. I spent 20 years in the Marine Corps and have seen and done some not so nice things, however, nothing could prepare me for the hurt and helplessness I felt watching her try to stay alive for the last 5 days.
Nobody should have to watch their parent die, it's cruel, painful and emotionally draining.
I have a lot of regrets. I sometimes would not pick up the phone seeing her call because I was "too busy" at the moment. She lived 2 streets over but I chose to put off stopping in to see how she was doing because work always got in the way. I could have hugged and told her I loved her way more times than I ever did.
I'm not writing this for re-clicks or condolences, I'm writing this to tell everyone out there, if you have parents, call them now. Ask them how they're doing, spend an hour with them, hug them and make sure you tell them you love them. Life is way too short, don't let your parents go only to live with regrets.
I wish I could have been a better son, my mama deserved that. RIP Mama, I love you to the moon and back!
@LuckyMcGee Nothing prepared me for that. I did take solace in the fact I was able to make her laugh one last time when I told her I was gonna let her get up and get in the kitchen to make me her homemade gnocchis. (She was Sicilian and her cooking was unparalleled.)
Dear @WhiteHouse, my name is Rodney Smith Jr., founder of Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service in Huntsville, Alabama. Through our 50 Yard Challenge, over 6,000 kids across the country have signed up to mow free lawns for the elderly, disabled, veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and single parents. With America celebrating its 250th birthday this year and me also being born on July 4th, I wanted to humbly ask if a few kids from our program and myself could travel to Washington, D.C. to help mow the White House lawn for this historic celebration.
More than anything, I want these kids to see how a simple act of service something as ordinary as mowing a lawn for someone in need can lead to extraordinary places. What better lesson in community service than showing them that helping others can take them all the way to our nationโs capital? Iโd also love to bring my American flag-themed mower in hopes that the President might sign it, so I can later auction it off and donate 100% of the proceeds to a nonprofit supporting veterans. It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to highlight the importance of service, patriotism, and the impact young people can have when they choose to make a difference. ๐บ๐ธ
This is Todd โLetโs Rollโ Beamer, who died heroically while trying to retake United Flight 93 from Al Qaeda terrorists on 9/11. His final resting place, is in Cranbury, NJ โ where he was living with his wife and children before his murder. Cranbury is located in NJ-12, where the new Democratic nominee for Congress is Adam Hamawy.
Hamawy was a close associate and translator to Omar Abdel-Rahman, aka the โBlind Sheikh,โ an arch terrorist convicted of masterminding multiple plots against targets in NYC โ including the World Trade Center. Hamawy testified at Adbel-Rahmanโs trial, as a defense witness.
It has also been reported that Hamawy traveled to Bosnia to volunteer at an organization that was later unmasked as an Al Qaeda front group.
One of Hamawyโs loudest and most high-profile supporters and endorsers has openly declared that America deserved the 9/11 attacks.
Hamawy is now the prohibitive frontrunner to represent Todd Beamerโs district in the United States Congress.
