@Britannica Anecdotally can confirm — I have 2 redheads in my family and every dentist visit has to start with a request to ~double normal Novocain levels
@aakashgupta This resonates as a parent of a 3 and 1 y/o. With any free 30m, I do what I call the “dad workout” - no push or pull days, just superset every muscle group to exhaustion because I don’t know when my next 30m window might be.
@ToKTeacher@naval I love the linked article; made me flip my view. EA is logically compelling, propagated by smart people; until now, hadn’t heard a strong counterargument, but this deconstructions the notion of altruism + how to solve for the “goal” of maximizing progress; MUCH more compelling
@reallifekhajit @ConsumerReports@kevloria@DrJamesERogers I believe FDA revised guidance, so this isn’t new - plus lack of fed limit doesn’t give license to omit key sources and doesn’t change the fact that FDA HAS opined. These metals appear to be in many foods; if the amt consumed isn’t harmful, there should be less call for alarm.
@ConsumerReports@kevloria@DrJamesERogers 2) You state that we “don’t have an FDA level” for allowable dose - yet it appears that this may not be the case? Why would this not qualify (or at least be relevant detail to include): https://t.co/2XJqDLRG1C
@ConsumerReports@kevloria@DrJamesERogers
Two questions:
1) Why not at minimum mention other sources like FDA, WHO (others?) who appear to have released guidelines that suggest SIGNIFICANTLY different daily intake levels
@littlealomar@TallTrees707@kevloria Agree that this is the key question. The MADL is set at 1,000 times greater than the exposure level that would have an “observable effect” while FDA’s limit is set at 10x less than the amount of lead intake from food that would be required to reach the CDC’s blood reference level
@kevloria Claiming there are "no federal limits for the amount of lead and cadmium most foods can contain" seems misleading given the FDA has guidelines stating lead intake limits of 8.8 µg per day for females of childbearing age - 17x the MADL guidelines https://t.co/2XJqDLRG1C
@kevloria In doing some light research, it appeared that MADL thresholds were much more stringent than many others - see below for a comparison to FAO/WHO limits, which suggest that Theo Bar (140% of pb intake / 196% of cd intake per MADL) was closer to 2-6% of daily thresholds for adults
@midmarketPEguy In your view, what are a few of the best businesses/industries to target for SMB acquisition at the moment and why? Any under-the-radar sectors most people aren’t talking about/looking at?
@arpitrage When I was a junior employee working in client advisory services, I would consistently perform a similar internal exercise anytime the client asked a question or our senior leadership; found it to be a great way to improve my thinking / advice quality
