This CROCmas we reached out to colleagues from all over the world to get kids involved to share their Christmas love over crocodiles! Check out these great drawings from Year 5 Indigo from Bounty Boulevarde State School in North Lakes, Queensland, Australia!
Congratulations to @Ryanscienceman on his first, first author publication from his PhD research!

Excited to share our latest pre-print describing the beautiful work of PhD student @mikaelagbell on the insect-specific alphavirus, Yada Yada virus. Mikaela successfully brought the virus to “life” for the first time using RNA fragments from mosquitoes.

A stunning image of a RAT-like test for flaviviruses, currently being developed at @UQ_SCMB, featured on the cover of @LabonaChip. Taken by Ryan Johnston at our @CMMUQ1 facility, it won the Art in Science award at @MicroTas2024 in 2023!
Happy to share our latest preprint, entitled "Application of chimeric antigens to paper-based diagnostics for detection of West Nile virus infections of Crocodylus porosus – a novel animal test case". https://t.co/jDqRJISjry More great stuff coming from the Peters' Lab!
As proof-of-concept, diagnosis of West Nile virus infection in Australian saltwater crocodiles was shown #onlyinaustralia. However, we believe that this assay will work equally well for other crocodilian species.

Exited to share the first paper pre-print of many from the PhD of @Ryanscienceman. Ryan highlights the application of antigens produced using the chimeric Binjari virus system to rapid lateral flow assay for diagnosis of West Nile virus infections.
#WorldMosquitoDay. @JodyPeters20 lab is tackling mosquito-borne viral diseases using chimeric technology based on the benign Binjari virus. This provides the platform for the next generation of mosquito-borne flavivirus diagnostics, therapies & vaccines. https://t.co/s7PUq0j4r8
