@Fritschner I think a lot of DC media saw Nancy’s performance in the previous Dem-led House and were dismissive: “Oh that’s easy. Anyone could do that.” People used to say that about Steph’s 3-pt shooting too; just because it looks easy doesn’t mean it is. A 27-seat margin should be easier.
@MKliesen18018@Fritschner “Feeling their oats” & “being utterly desperate” look alike from outside but the reasons aren’t alike. The giveaway? GOP operatives, who bluster like breathing, are openly (if anonymously) panicking. As a Dem, that’s our side of the street & they gotta go before someone gets cut.
@Fritschner Late to the party but my wild-ass theory is that continued SLF & NRSC support was the price of Sununu’s entry into the race. Without the name, which is all he brings, this race would have been DOA.
@CharlesPPierce@MollyJongFast@RepJoshG Stretch goal for the House: enough Dems so that Josh, MGOP and the two crooked fvcks on the RGV can be utterly ignored.
@RoboRob17@pragmaticjock It shouldn’t matter anyway. Either his brain is turning into Cream Of Wheat or his speechwriters can’t write (or both), but he said what he said. He’s no Oracle of Delphi, just an evil stupid old man with dementia. No need to interpret his verbal mish-mash.
@Fritschner@ForecasterEnten Í looked at his bio and Hill was probably around 15 in 2020. Having said that does he seriously not know what cooked Cal back then? @realPrestonHill
@daveweigel Like the GOP, if they get the chance to undermine GOP trans laws, they will. As a partisan Dem neither that fact nor their unwillingness to spend time on it given the current economic climate bothers me.
@JBSDC It seems also that as the state grows bluer, the GOP gets more 🥜. Honestly often on culture issues but not exactly the same ones as in the red states.
