@PapeSyCulture To my mind, this panel (or maybe handwashing) represents the heart of the comic. Naturally, film writers & directors can have their own visions, so there was no *need* for the film to have the same beating heart. But whatever Nogueira & Gillespie replaced it with was not my ☕️.
@DrGipps It’s important to get out of the house, dance, shake hands, take in the sounds and smell of things, and to exercise, because I am not just pure intellect; I have a body.
@MuseZack My students don’t know who King Arthur and Guinevere are. So if you know any filmmakers who could help preserve that bit of culture, please drop a hint.
@WhitStillman I’ve heard people say that a film needed more time to breathe and would have benefited from being longer. I don’t think I’ve ever had this thought about a sermon, though.
@worldviewdesign Perhaps surprisingly, I like 3 better than 1, 2. ‘clarity’>‘power’. If it were my course, I might call it, “How to Be a Good Lover of Truth” or “Pursuing Truth Well,” but those might be off-brand.
@eigenrobot@credenzaclear2 Maybe:
The most important kind of correct theology is a kind of tacit-knowledge; getting the explicit theology wrong can interfere with this.
But also:
Since we are logos-beings, getting good *explicit* theology is also part of our charge, akin to the call to sing & make music.
@WhitStillman Perhaps the good Lord is protecting it from our discourse. But I did pass along the message to my friends and acquaintances that it is an enjoyable film.

There’s a quote I like a lot, which I came across from Victor Zuckerkandl, which he attributes to Schelling. I was never able to find this in the original, though. I’d be delighted if it could be found.
