I fear the UK gov. hates anyone born like 1/2 years either side of the millennium. New GCSEs, new A levels, Covid uni, loss of opportunities such as this. Actually SYM
Going to be controversial here.
Nothing wrong with vocational/technical training or apprenticeships.
Now ask yourself, how many very wealthy families kids opt for that?
No, they either walk into city jobs or go to university.
So, why should my kids settle for less.
@nurseybird1 My dad had dementia and was in a home. It cost a fortune. He was comfortable and well looked after. That's all that mattered. Not how much was going to be left after he died. Inheritance is a gift, not a right.
The social care levy should just be rolled into NI. Its all tax. Its all the same thing
First it’s 1.8% next it’ll be 2.5%, before long it’ll be 10%
My generation is already hammered with tax: student loans, income, NI. How much more must we give before pensioners are satisfied
@valhumphreys51 this 1000%. You never see Politicians advocate for their own children to go into 'vocational training'. It's never a good idea for 'them'.
Keir Starmer's son isn't going to a trades college. Nor will Rishi Sunak's daughters, or even Badenoch's children.
What seems to have happened is that Zack Polanski accepted a collab request – effectively, a tag – of a batch of 20 photos. I've been open about my opinions of his social media use (too much time online, too quick to share, not enough due diligence) but that's not a reason to jail someone. Be serious!
If I were Nick Clegg, I would keep my mouth very shut on this issue.
I have a plan 2 and a post graduate loan, with the terms that his government established, my deductions this month are below.
I can’t believe his gall
Keir Starmer’s biggest mistake was first addressing the fiscal black hole instead of making a TikTok with Rachael Reeves about the merits of scampi fries over pork scratchings.
The No 10 North thing is in my view a bit ridiculous. London is the capital city. If you want to be PM of this country you need to work from the capital. What if every minister who came along said they were going to work from their constituency or hometown? It’s performative nonsense that does nothing serious to boost the Northern economy. Just an symbolic attempt to give Burnham’s Manchesterism a bit more flesh
@charliejblake_ What’s immoral is leaving thousands without adequate social care in older age. Bankrupting families & local councils.
Things cost. People need to get to grips with contributing to this service.
We’ll age soon enough, and frankly i don’t want my last years of life in squalor.
UK Civil Service salaries never cease to confuse me, you can either help manage the UK’s nuclear defence for £47k or you can make TikToks for Andy Burnham for £57k
