#WSocial is now in Beta. Managed to setup an account, but it was far from straightforward. Understand what they're trying to achieve - and why, but it still needs a lot of work, especially at the onboarding stage. One to watch!
@mervenoyann@airshaped That's the thing. The EU needs to develop (and maintain) a Mythos-class model, from which smaller, open-source models are regularly derived, à la Qwen[3.5]. For the former, I've been reading there's compute to do it, but I'm deeply sceptical there's enough GPU scale to achieve it
@electricfelix@Gilbert13_02 Typical indeed - and the achilles heel of most of the European automakers pricing strategy. As soon as you start adding-on what is standard elsewhere, the affordability goes out the window...
The mindset behind Renault's CEO proposal illustrates perfectly why the EU's strategy vis-a-vis Chinese #EVs is so misguided - and ultimately doomed. It demonstrates that the European industry is still largely stuck behind a traditional, but now obsolete, automotive value chain.
Renault's CEO: the European Union should encourage Chinese car makers to go beyond assembling cars in Europe and source auto parts in the region too. "I think the good way for Europe is really to set a deal with China based on this strategy"

@jcthebuilderhq@shipordie_@stripe@lemonsqueezy@PaddleHQ@dodopayments@ayushagarwal MoR top of the list, then other factors like support for a payment method in a specific, key market I'm targeting, for instance. Their positioning and posture seems to be quite aligned with mine too. That said, the proof is in the pudding, so I'll be testing them very soon.
@Ex0byt Very promising indeed for long-horizon agents. Strong suggestion for @lightseekorg though: prioritize ROCm/#AMD support as close as possible to Blackwell parity early on. Ecosystem will benefit hugely from avoiding excessive CUDA dependency - and enabling heterogeneous AI infra.
@Italianclownz@no_stp_on_snek I've been looking into the '#Gorgon Halo', especially the 495. Expect it to be slightly cheaper than the Spark, but much will depend on how wide the retail ecosystem will be. It looks a better option compared to the Spark, with one key downside, apparently: stackability.
@AukeHoekstra Great point, but I believe that the pleading should, first and foremost, be directed at the automakers themselves. Great to see Kia/Hyundai involved but what about the rest? Also, suspect that the key driver would actually be V2H.
@CleanPowerDave@MegaWattXinfo Which is why I believe the transition towards R290 will take much longer than anticipated - and, therefore, an equally longer tail end for R32, even with a VMC present. The focus clearly remains on space heating (A2W), when space cooling (A2A, especially multi-split) is also key.
@rospigge60559@linkanz23 I particularly liked the neighbourly dig: 'It's like an iPhone compared to an old Nokia'. 😉 On the Gripen, it's just a pity that it's taking so long for Saab to do away with the ITAR straightjacket...
@daleverett Excellent work! Don’t chase 'Neo4j-in-Postgres' though. Focus on Postgres-native strengths: planner integration, MVCC safety, hybrid SQL/vector/graph workflows, graph-aware indexing and operational simplicity. If traversal semantics become first-class, this could be tremendous.
