@RobZehner @schipperkesaver @JoJoFromJerz Not only this, but it would be unconscionable to allow a tiny number of people to block the will of the entire country. All incumbents would run unopposed... they'd just drum up indictments against their challengers.
@JoJoFromJerz You're right. It doesn't supersede it. In fact, it has nothing to do with it unless the generic "your" you're tweeting at is actually the one doing a school shooting.
@swd2@ninaturner Apologies, Al Capone is wrong. Got him temporarily mixed up with Louis Capone, no relation, who was executed, and apparently well-off but not super rich.
@swd2@ninaturner Al Capone. If a murderer is not executed, is paroled or escapes, and kills again, that's much more costly. Evidence for your crimes of passion claim? Link to studies showing families don't feel better after executions?
@Missy2542@ninaturner The chemicals used in lethal injection are extremely expensive and often difficult for the government to obtain. Bullets are not. You'd think hanging would be the way to go if you want to emulate westerns.
@swd2@ninaturner Racist: A flaw in law enforcement and courts, not in the death penalty, which treats all who come to it equally. Costly: depends what coin you're talking about. Doesn't prevent: certainly no one put to death will commit another crime. Doesn't bring comfort: depends on the family.
