நான் என்ன எழுதிகிறேன் என்று கண்ணில் விளக்கெண்ணை விட்டுக் கொண்டு கேடுகெட்ட @tnhrcedept பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறது போலும்.

இப்பொழுதுதான் மயிலை காவல்நிலையத்திலிருந்து எனக்கு ஒரு அழைப்பு வந்தது. அதாவது கேடுகெட்ட இந்து அறநிலையத்துறை என் மீது புகார் கொடுத்துள்ளதாம். இது அதிகாரபூர்வமான புகாரா அல்லது கட்டபஞ்சாயத்து புகாரா என்பது பெருமானுக்கு மட்டுமே தெரியும்.

எதுவாக இருந்தாலும், நான் கோவிலுக்கு பக்தர்களை அவர்கள் கையாலகாத்தனத்தை எண்ணி மனம் உருகி கண்ணீர் சிந்தி ப்ரார்தனை செய்ய வருவீர்களா என்று கேட்டதை, இவர்கள் நான் ஏதோ போராட்டம் ஆர்பாட்டம் செய்ய போவதாக திறித்து பேசி இருக்கின்றனர்.

அந்த காவல் அதிகாரி பாவம். அவர் கடமையைச் செய்கிறார். சட்ட விரோதமான காரியத்தில் யார் ஈடுபட்டாலும் அவர்கள் மீது சட்ட நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க காவல் துறைக்கு அதிகாரம் உண்டு.

ஆனால் சட்டத்திற்கு உட்பட்டு ஒருவர் செயல்படும் பொழுது அவர் மீது தேவையில்லாமல் பெரிய இடத்திலிருந்து வந்த ஆணை என்பதற்காக ஒருவரை ஒடுக்க நினைப்பது அவருடைய அடிப்படை சுதந்திரத்தில் தலையிடுவது.

ஏன் இவ்வளவு பயம்? மடியில் கனம் இருப்பவனுக்குத்தானே வழியில் பயம் வரும்?! நான் வருகிறீர்களா என்று கேட்டதற்கே இப்படி என்றால் வந்தால் என்ன செய்வார்களோ!! ஒரு வேளை சிறைபிடிப்பார்களோ!! என்னை உச்ச நீதிமன்றத்திற்கு போகவிடாமல் தடுப்பார்களோ!!

என்ன நடக்கிறது நாட்டில்!! அவனவன் தீபம் எற்ற முடியவில்லை என்று சொல்லிக் கொண்டிருப்பது வேடிக்கை.

இங்கே பெருமானை தரிசிக்கவே முடியாது போலுள்ளதே. ப்ரார்தனை செய்ய முடியாது போலிருக்கிறதே. கண்ணீர் சிந்த முடியாது போலிருக்கிறதே!!

Meaning, even a lie will be told in such a way that you'll believe it's the truth.
Sahil's rank of 614 was within his own SC category. That means his overall rank must have been at least above 20,000.

With a rank of around 20,000, the course and IIT that Sahil got wouldn't even be available to a General Category student at rank 2,000.
Let me also mention that Sahil's father holds a good position in a bank, his mother is a teacher, and he used an iPhone to use ChatGPT.

Meaning, by any economic or social measure, he was nowhere close to being "Dalit."

Binary numbers invented in India!
1010110. They are the foundational for Computer Science.

In 200 BCE, a Hindu scholar is trying to solve a poetry problem.

How many ways can you make a line of 3 syllables, if each syllable can be short or long?

That question becomes binary code.

Acharya Pingala, younger brother of Panini as per by tradition, is writing the Chandahshastra, the science of meters.

Every Sanskrit shloka must fit a meter. He wants to classify all possible meters.

He invents a system:

* Laghu = short syllable = 0
* Guru = long syllable = 1

He then asks:

For a 1-syllable meter, what are the combinations?

L, G - 2

For 2 syllables?
LL, LG, GL, GG - 4

For 3?
LLL, LLG, LGL, LGG, GLL, GLG, GGL, GGG - 8

This is binary counting, 2,200 years before Leibniz.

He writes Sutra 8.32: "prastāre laghu-guru" - layout with laghu and guru. In his method, he explicitly describes how to generate all patterns by adding L and G systematically

EXACTLY how a modern computer counts in binary: 000, 001, 010, 011...

Then he does more.

In Sutras 8.34-35, he describes Meru Prastara - what you see as the triangle of pebbles and sticks in the picture.

That is Pascal's Triangle, 1,800 years BEFORE Pascal.

He uses it to answer: how many 6-syllable meters have exactly 2 longs?

The answer is in the Meru.

And then, Sutra 8.28: he describes how to calculate 2^n - the number of ALL combinations.

His method: double repeatedly, using a process called sankhya.

This is the earliest known explicit algorithm for binary exponentiation.

And Sutra 8.31: how to find the binary representation of a number - his method of division by 2.

Leibniz, in 1703, will publish binary and claim he invented it. But Leibniz is 1,900 years late.

Pingala wasn't building a computer. He was describing how to write a poem in Gayatri meter.

Poetry needed math. Math became binary.

What you see in the painting (the pebbles as laghu (short), sticks as guru (long), arranged in a triangle) is LITERALLY the FIRST COMPUTER CODE, laid out on an earth floor in 200 BCE.

Every 0 and 1 in your phone exists because a man in ancient India wanted to count the ways to say a verse.

Generation after generation Brahmins preserved knowledge and taught it freely.

They lived on alms given by others though they could have used the knowledge to enrich themselves.

Christian missionaries saw them as rivals and impediments to conversion. Their religion taught them others worshipped the devil.

So per the missionary account, Brahmins had hypnotized everyone to worship the devil and "put themselves on top of the hierarchy." In practise, Brahmins neither had state power, nor money power, only knowledge and respect.

That missionary story was turned by colonial scholars into stories of "Brahminical oppression."

Brahmins were at the forefront of the independence struggle. They were targeted by colonial stooges like EVR who wanted British rule to continue.

Yet they contributed to the country in many fields. Even when driven out, they continued to work for the nation.

The narrative of making Brahmins into villains must end. It is not based on reality but on the machinations and frustrations of Christian missionaries, spread via colonial education.

I am in Thailand.

Since 3 years now, I have decided I will not eat anywhere that serves beef. ⚔️ Doesn’t matter if it’s London or Bangkok - that’s my religious freedom of choice.

I came to this mall to sit and drink tea, then I saw they are selling cow meat.

We really should start being clear about our dietary places when we go outside because I don’t want that seeping into my reality. Generally eating food is something very particular anyway.

I was very polite, of course the people in Thailand are the best and I love them.

“Do you serve b__f here?” He said yes.

“I am a Hindu so I cannot eat anywhere that serves b__f,” I said. I make this sentence every single time. Painstakingly, I will ask. And that’s our right.

We don’t need to bow to the modern world at all. The western world has HUGE freedom of choice which is why London is full of vegan cafés.

Then I found the Japanese Matcha place I was looking for anyway so no issues there. 🍵

Because just this one thing, we should care about. I don’t care if you cut goats sitting next to me, I don’t care if you sacrifice chickens. As a Hindu I can happily refuse to eat anywhere that is cutting my sacred animal and that’s okay, it’s not rude.

That doesn’t make me bigoted or discriminatory. We should never feel shy about choosing where we eat.
