@hudconitis Hate to break it to ya but it currently isn’t and wouldn’t be legal in any future Palestinian state either. So casting an anti-Zionist is no different
And I know Mehdi Hasan is smart enough to know and understand what I’m saying. He’s choosing to frame it this way to push his narrative. It’s in bad faith and deliberately misinterprets the article
“You like pancakes so you hate waffles”-esque interpretation of an extremely important piece. At no point does the article give Israel a pass, it’s just focused on Hamas’ role. Not everything is one or the other, black or white
Some of the worst, most dishonest, most fanatical pro-genocide people on this site are all sharing this piece today. A piece which conveniently blames all the problems of Gaza only on Hamas while giving Israel, the genocidaire, a complete pass.
Mehdi Hasan, not Palestinian, and a former full-time employee of the state broadcaster of the slave state of Qatar that still to this day hosts Hamas’ leadership and pours billions into its coffers while Palestinians suffer under their yoke.
@afalkhatib, actual Palestinian from Gaza, peace activist who lost 33 relatives during Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza, including 29 killed in a single IDF airstrike. I think we all know who the courageous voice of peace and truth is here.
I don’t think many people were fooled anymore, but if they were…
When you protest a Yiddish festival that has nothing to do with Israel, that’s antisemitism
Yiddish, a language of the European Jewish DIASPORA
It was never really about Israel, it was always about hating Jews
Antizionists are protesting the apolitical Ashkenaz Jewish music and culture festival in Kensington Market tomorrow.
Note they dub it "AshkeN∆ZI" - an attack on an ethnicity.
It's nothing to do with Zionism. They're coming for our music because they don't like our race.
I like the very specific terminology that we must start making “lists” of Jews, but only the Ashkenazi ones, as opposed to the famously woke brown ones. It shows how good of an understanding you have of Jewish history growing up in rural Ontario
Many Jewish people have no idea how complicit the mainstream media is in the rise of antisemitism in America.
Your average midwit zoomer now genuinely believes Israelis routinely train dogs to rape random Palestinians and film it before uploading it online.
When you tell them that’s simply not true, they start talking about ‘Taqiya from the Talmud’ or something equally stupid.
They’re fully convinced that Israel is run by the equivalent of a DVD commentary track, which they think is a book of dark magic and world domination.
And unfortunately, none of this is remotely hyperbolic.
@TerrinaMajnoona All Israelis should be prosecuted? Every single one should go to prison just for being Israeli? Don’t you realize how bigoted rhat is?
Two questions I'd love never to hear again: "The Arabs have 20 countries. Why can't the Palestinians go there?" For the same reason that most Chileans want to stay in Chile, and not move to Mexico or Argentina. Palestine/Israel is the place they love, most of them were born there, and they have as much of a right to live there as anyone else.
And the parallel question: "Why can't the Jews go back to Poland?" First, most Israelis today are descended from Jews that came from Morocco, Iraq, Yemen, and other North African and Middle Eastern countries. And second, same answer: most were born there, have no other passport, and have as much of a right to live there as anyone else.
Few things are more deluded, damaging, or dangerous than talking of "another Nakba" for the Palestinians or fantasizing that "the Jews will leave like the French left Algeria." Neither will happen. This can only end with *some* form of coexistence. There is no other way.
Heard a gentile causally joke about how something was promised to a friend 3k years ago. Wasn’t even in a political context but just goes to show how much this stuff has sept into the general culture at this point
