@the_math_gal What if we take it a step further? We can work with students to create their ideal summer camps, then present their ideas to local YMCAs, Boys and Girls Clubs, Libraries, etc. Some ideas could eventually turn into a reality.
@CarlonMariana@clemmywinebox Love this. There are always people who need help and always people who are willing to help. Having a student become a conduit between the two while learning something they're passionate about has powerful potential.

@JuleenPackard As far as initial steps go, knowing our students and the communities we serve is right on. We also need to create safe and inviting learning spaces that encourage risk-taking and vulnerability, and are free of judgement. Then we can truly work with students to help guide them.
@LynemJulie These are so fun! Projects and sites like this that are open-source and available for the world to use give me hope for a more accessible world for everyone
