@GregoryRGrace@JamesLucasIT No. There are two debated dates (assuming it happened), 1446 BC or ~1250 BC. A 1208 BC stele already mentions Israelis being in Canaan, so 25-75 years ahead of the LBAC.
@nivsirhc@ianbremmer Oil for starters. And yes, you get a big discount off world prices. Aluminum, uranium, potash, and electricity which powers Midwest & New England states. Americans struggling to buy food and gas their cars and wonder why everything there keeps going up
@DerekButcher12@CDNPolicyHawk Korea would have been better here because they want to establish their military hardware exports. Germany will do the bare minimum. The Korean sub is better. This was 100% a political decision, we will see what it gets us.
@JFreshHockey How many NA NHL draft picks even make it to the AHL? I’m willing to bet most never get the opportunity past a single game or double game call up
@JeffVeillette It’s not insane. You’re looking at one element of the CBA in isolation. There’s tradeoffs. NBA effectively has no salary cap - not a real one. NHL has a a hard salary cap. NBA contracts are 100% guaranteed, NHL can be bought out after a couple seasons for 2/3. Etc etc
@nicolefshirman I worry more about quality of competition. NHL 32 teams, probably 1.6 million minor and junior boys/men playing globally. Women 12 teams with 200,000. 13% as many players but 38% of the teams.
@TheStalwart Read it and it was not worth it. A bunch of handwaving to justify his original $200 WTI prediction from March, only to conclude $200 any minute now (TM).
People didn’t learn from the Russia sanctions example. Oil finds a way.
@jonathanec12@walsha 2 new US-based teams (somewhat offset by one struggling one) and new TV contracts that are expected to show a big increase. Escrow from COVID fully repaid by the players, allowing cap to catch to HRR growth over last 4 seasons.
@walsha 1: ELC going to see a massive bump in 2030 (start of next next CBA). $1.5M - Players will want that because it’ll also push up low end vets. Also fits better w/ hockey culture.
2: It won’t be the max cap teams worried - it’ll be the floor teams. Small markets going to struggle.
@Ade780 Cap will be $113.5M next year. He’ll take $15.5M x 8. He’ll want to leave room to build a competitve team and San Jose is practically home for him.
@JoshYohe_PGH Hands down this would have been Russia’s strongest ever team. They’ve traditionally had good top lines, but struggled with depth & goaltending. Now they’d have the best goalies and All-stars through the 2nd line. 3rd D pairing is still a weak but I’d put them above Sweden.
@TheMrWilhauk Don’t just think about the team revenue. Think about venue revenue and the deal with the respective city and how much the team keeps. Concessions, parking, concert / event ticket promoter, etc. Edmonton’s arena is one of the newest & nicest arenas and a major entertainment venue
