BREAKING: Scientists claimed it was "morally" justifiable to infect people with a virus that would make them allergic to meat in a controversial paper published in 2025.
I've been trying to give myself selective amnesia regarding that shit-ass game. Thank you for ruining years of dedicated efforts to expunge it from my mind. :P
Aside from a god of war game without the god of war, this is the primary reason why people are upset, albeit many/most either cannot phrase things properly or are just losing their shit because they live on social media. They did the actress dirty but that's nothing new.
So unlike woke game designers I read some of the comments and I redid the design.
Here’s another model I edited. Looks more like the actress, more realistic looking, more texture on her skin. I even toned down her makeup.
Still looks like a beautiful character and the actress in my opinion.
Endy sells out.
Smash is pausing his livestreams.
Atraes and Kaida's viewership is going nowhere.
Let's wind the clocks back a year. These wokies, journos and paid shills didn't dare cross any of you.
I mean, what happened? Did your posts drop off?
All right, so listen, why don't you hit the follow button if you want to dive deeper into how to fix modern Western gaming.
Here's my card.
One thing this IGN article fails to clarify that I am curious about: Was Valve demanding they raise the price on the Ubisoft storefront for price parity or were they demanding the Steam store price be lowered to match? Legally, I don't think it matters but morally I feel it does.
Valve has allegedly gone to great lengths to maintain Steam's position as a marketplace titan on PC, including one example that reportedly saw it threaten to retaliate against Ubisoft by delisting Rai... https://t.co/UPDlNdRdch
As a HUGE Stargate fan this irritates the hell out of me. They really put in the work to bring us something decent only to get the axe by Amazon Execs who wouldn't know a decent story if it bit them in the ass before they could even begin filming.
Sadly, it's true. Amazon has elected not to move forward with the new Stargate series.
There's not much I can add beyond confirming what's happened. But I will say this...
Creator Martin Gero developed a new Stargate series over two years, ultimately crafting a show that offered a fresh jumping-on point for new viewers while deeply respecting existing canon. It was a series that avoided the pitfalls of several modern remakes and reboots by fully embracing the core of its predecessors: action, adventure, exploration, wonder, heart, humor, and found family. And based on that creative vision, the new Stargate series was greenlit in November of 2025.
As of today, officially, that original vision is no more. We'll never get the opportunity to introduce you to that world and those characters - or reintroduce you to, and check in with, some familiar faces from the past.
My heart breaks. For the incredibly talented writers who worked tirelessly to bring this show to life. For Martin who maintained an unwavering positive outlook throughout despite the challenges, and who always strove to make a show that would honor the fans while welcoming a new audiences. And for the long-suffering Stargate fandom who waited so long and came so close to getting a show they truly would have loved.
You seem to be of the opinion that I am out to get Valve in some way. That would be incorrect. I've been saying they have a pseudo monopoly for over a decade. Even then I still celebrate when they do something right and hold their feet to the fire when they do something wrong. At the end of the day they are a company, much like any other. They have achieved their status through a combination of factors. Some deliberate, others by chance. Either way, Steam has become synonymous with PC Gaming and as such IF they engage in anti competitive practices (note: if, not are) then they would run the risk of running afoul of anti-trust regulations.
People use the term "monopoly" which is inaccurate. A pseudo monopoly IS accurate and they are very different things. It is not "an excuse" as you claim, it is a clarification. It is that simple.
Mostly because Valve has had a pseudo monopoly on PC Gaming for decades and people don't know the difference between a pseudo monopoly and a monopoly. An pseudo monopoly rises due to a combination of robust features compared to competitors, brand loyalty on the part of gamers, a resultant high barrier to entry for competitors, economy of scale, etc.
Also, even though Valve holds a pseudo monopoly they COULD still be subject to anti-trust regulations if they engage in anti-competitive practices.
There are several actual monopolies in the tech world that come to mind. Steam is not one of them. I do not understand why this narrative is being pushed so hard.
What the hell do you expect with a dude that has adamantine knives that come out of his fucking hands like a roided out Freddy Krueger with anger management issues? Kittens and rainbows?
I mean... that IS why I make all of my RPG characters female. If I'm going to be staring at someone's ass for that long it might as well be one I enjoy looking at.
Have they improved it at all? From what I remember it had a solid premise going for it but it fell off a cliff. Are they going to try and No Man's Sky this thing?
I hold similar thoughts for Star Wars Galaxies. The absolute BEST player economy/crafting system I've ever seen in an MMO along with player cities, faction play, and many other things. A truly before it's time MMO that was repeatedly butchered and set up for failure.
It's such a shame that Blizzard fucked over World Of Warcraft completly over the years
I have fond memories of one of the best atmospheres in all of gaming
@Blippedyblop Indeed. I liked that is was exceedingly rare and chances were the vast majority (99.9% or higher) of the players would never unlock it. Hell, I remember when the first dude did it. Every server went insane.
"Fresh new perspective"... Translation:
- Was never involved with the shows
- Never watched the 90's movie
- Never so much as watched any of the 3 shows
- Willing to make Stargate "for a modern audience"
Amazon has canceled Martin Gero's new Stargate series. The show had completed a 20-week writers room and was in pre-production in the UK.
The stated reason: Amazon executives were concerned it would not have broad appeal beyond the franchise's dedicated fanbase.
They killed a Stargate show because it was made for Stargate fans.
Gero spent five years on SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe. Brad Wright and Joe Mallozzi — architects of 15 of the franchise's 17 seasons — were consulting producers. Roland Emmerich and Dean Devlin were executive producers.
Amazon says it still wants to develop Stargate, possibly with a showrunner without franchise history who can give it "a fresh new perspective."
The fans who waited 15 years since Universe was canceled just had their answer.
