It's truly disheartening that our voices are not being heard. The difficult circumstances we, a group of Iranian students, are facing, each of us stuck behind the AP wall for between 6 to 18 months, sometimes even more, witnessing our dreams being filled and academic positions slipping away, obtained with great cost of our time, energy, and youth, are not being acknowledged. Since the beginning of 2024, we have made every effort to make our voices heard in any way possible so that maybe a path could open for us. Maybe we could make some, even small, impact and make this process more efficient and optimized. So that we, as students, don't suffer from this dilemma and the security of America is not compromised.
Recently, there have been numerous reports indicating that the U.S. embassy is increasingly refusing student visas for Iranian students, sometimes immediately during appointments erasing the principal problem. Most of us only have two months left to start our positions after this long period of patience and uncertainty regarding visa status. It seems like we should just wait for a miracle, not for help and empathy from an institution.

Feeling incredibly frustrated with the US student visa process.

From the day we received our admission letters, we dreamed of new opportunities and academic growth. However, the reality of navigating complex paperwork, enduring long wait times, and dealing with constant uncertainty has turned our excitement into anxiety and depression.

Every step, from securing the admission to scheduling visa appointments, was like a battle.

The lack of clear communication and frequent delays add to our stress, leaving us in limbo about our educational future.

We just want the chance to pursue our dreams and contribute to the global academic community, but the hurdles seem insurmountable.

As Iranian students waiting between 6 to 18 months (sometimes even more) for visa clearance, we urge the US embassies and DOS  to expedite the process. With the fall semester approaching, please prioritize our files. The current process is exhausting and unfair, draining us of energy, money, and time. Moreover our emails and inquiries to embassies go unanswered. We simply ask for a more efficient and timely Administrative Processing. The current system is causing significant harm to our mental well-being and future prospects, as well as confusing American universities and professors.
