የመንግስት መገናኛ ብዙሃን በቅርብ ጊዜያት ለውጭ ሀገር "ቲክቶከሮች" እና "ይዘት ፈጣሪዎች" እየሰጡት ያለው ከልክ ያለፈ ሽፋን እና ማጋነን ከጀርባው የህዝብን ትኩረት የማስቀየር አጀንዳ እንዳለው በግልጽ ያሳያል። ይህ ድርጊት የሀገሪቱን እውነተኛ እና አንገብጋቢ ችግሮች ወደ ጎን በመተው ሆን ተብሎ የሚሰራ ሀላፊነት የጎደለው የሚዲያ ስልት ነው።

ይህንን ጉዳይ በሚከተሉት ዋና ዋና ነጥቦች መተቸት ይቻላል፡

በአሁኑ ሰዓት ህዝቡ በከፍተኛ የኑሮ ውድነት፣ በዋጋ ንረት እና በከፋ የኢኮኖሚ ቀውስ ውስጥ ይገኛል። ዜጎች የእለት ጉርሳቸውን ለማግኘት በከፍተኛ ስቃይ ውስጥ ባሉበት በዚህ አስቸጋሪ ወቅት የመንግስት ሚዲያዎች የውጭ ዜጎች ስለ ኢትዮጵያ የሚያቀርቡትን ቪዲዮዎች እና ጉብኝቶች እንደ ትልቅ ሀገራዊ ድል አድርገው ማቅረባቸው ከህዝቡ እለታዊ የኑሮ ትግል ጋር ፈፅሞ የማይገናኝ ተግባር ነው።

ከኢኮኖሚው ባሻገር፣ የዜጎች ደህንነት ከፍተኛ አደጋ ላይ ወድቋል። ተደጋጋሚ ጥቃቶች እና እገታዎች የዕለት ተዕለት ዜና ሆነዋል። ከሁለት ቀናት በፊት እንኳን በደርዘን የሚቆጠሩ ንፁሃን ዜጎች ታግተው ሳለ የመንግስት ሚዲያዎች ስለዚህ አሳሳቢ ሀገራዊ ጉዳይ ትንፍሽ አላሉም። የዜጎች ህይወት እና ነፃነት አደጋ ላይ ባለበት ሁኔታ የሚዲያዎቹ ዋና አጀንዳ የውጭ ቲክቶከሮች መዝናናት እና ቪሎግ ማድረግ መሆኑ እጅግ የሚያሳዝን እና የሚዲያውን የሞራል ዝቅጠት የሚያሳይ ነው። ዜጎች እየታገቱና እየተገደሉ ባለበት ሀገር ሚዲያው የ"ሁሉ ሰላም ነው" የውሸት ትርክት ለመፍጠር መሞከሩ ዜጎችን መናቅ ጭምር ነው።

የመንግስት ሚዲያዎች የውጭ ሀገር ዜጎች ስለ ሀገራችን ጥሩ ነገር እንዲናገሩልን ያላቸው ጥማት (seeking external validation) ይህን አድራጊው አካል በራሱ ላይ ያለውን የመተማመን ማጣት ያሳያል። የሀገርን ገፅታ መገንባት የሚቻለው በውጭ ቲክቶከሮች ውዳሴ ሳይሆን በሀገር ውስጥ ለዜጎች ሰላም፣ ደህንነት እና የፍትሃዊ ኢኮኖሚ እድገት በማረጋገጥ ነው። የገዛ ዜጎቹን ስቃይ እና ሰቆቃ ችላ ብሎ የውጭ ሰዎችን ምስክርነት ለማግኘት መሮጥ ትልቅ ኪሳራ ነው።

Gondar, Ethiopia - A devastating drone attack has claimed the lives of 45 people in Gondar, Ethiopia.
Eyewitnesses report that 37 people were brutally killed in a drone strike on a public transport vehicle at Belesa Tala in central Gondar at 9:40 a.m. today.

The American Ethiopian Public Affairs Committee and several diaspora organizations have sent a letter to the World Bank and IMF leaders, urging them not to repeat the mistakes of the early 1990s in Rwanda. They have asked the institutions to reconsider their stance on financing the Ethiopian government’s actions, which they describe as a genocidal war. The group also requested an independent investigation into the IMF’s and World Bank’s data on Ethiopia’s real GDP growth.

In the letter, the diaspora organizations expressed their belief that Ethiopia's current economic woes are deeply intertwined with the ongoing wars waged by the government since 2020. They highlighted that following the Pretoria Agreement, PM Abiy quickly escalated conflicts in the Amhara and Oromia regions, causing incalculable devastation. The organizations argue that the IMF and World Bank's economic rescue plan for Ethiopia, without requiring the government to end its attacks on civilians and the resulting armed conflict, will not lead to true economic recovery.

Soldiers killed about 18 civilians in a revenge attack in Jiga, West Gojjam Zone, Amhara region, on June 16.

Local media reports (which I also corroborated from two additional sources) say the attack occurred hours after Fano militants hit an army convoy nearby.

Soldiers reportedly forced people from Goh Hotel and executed them at point blank range.

Victims included bank employees, tuk-tuk drivers, and a person with a mental disorder.
