@StreetsblogMASS@MassDCR Also, for the roundabouts, cars don't even stop for the existing pedestrians playing frogger. How about an enforcement camera or a red light switch?
@StreetsblogMASS@MassDCR If its not protected with concrete, cars will drive right over it. Cars are driving on the sidewalk as it is when it is backed up, which is every day.
@kylevining86@cdempc Purple air is definitely the better option, but it isn't portable. Tough to beat the portability.
Just depends if you want to measure personal exposure or at a particular location.
I have both ;)
@carsNbikelane@cdempc@MattyCiii We both have the Plume2
Its not so expensive, portable, and measures ultrafine particulate from brake dust
I attach one to my pants and was not surprised to find my place of work was lousy for certain pollution
@AlnThinks@adamPDOTcom @driversofnyc @Cygolite Sine wave is nice (from Cambridge too), but oh so pricey
Both have standing light capacitors, just the optics on the supernova are better for on-road riding. I have the supernova e3 triple on my mtb, which is comparable to the sinewave
@adamPDOTcom@AlnThinks @driversofnyc @Cygolite Careful, you will get drawn down the drawn into the dynamo world, which can be expensive ;)
but if you ever want the ultimate commuter bike imho: dynamo lights and nice fenders are a huge luxury. Just grab and go anywhere anytime
@AlnThinks@adamPDOTcom @driversofnyc @Cygolite Used to use my cygolite metro 1100, but after letting my wife use it I realized it is blinding even when you point it down. Now it is on the mtb only
@AlnThinks@adamPDOTcom @driversofnyc @Cygolite Supernova e3 pro dynamo lights. Cutoff so you don't blind other users and very bright. Liked it so much on my Bike Friday I put a dynamo on my audax bike
@carsNbikelane@bostonpolice@MattyCiii@bostonaruban@AlnThinks I really don't understand. I was having dinner and for 30 minutes, these two cars sat in the bike lane while other cars beeped at them. All of the beeping made it very unpleasant for me, and downright dangerous for those walking, biking and driving
@carsNbikelane Just going through Harvard Ave in Brookline and Allston this week, I witnessed 4 rear ends. Luckily no one was hurt, but it does make a big sound
