So at some point, the PR starts to look embarrassingly stupid.

If you want to convince the world China protects animals, pass the laws.

A dog was swept away by the river during flooding and got trapped in the strong current. When the water level went down, he was left stuck in the thick mud, silt and sludge that had settled there. Only his head was above the surface, while his entire body was buried underneath, and he couldn’t get out.

He had been trapped there for 3-4 days without food or water. Weak, injured and unable to escape, he was slowly losing his strength.

Then some people spotted what looked like a dog trapped in the mud. They risked their own lives, went deep into the swamp-like silt and started digging through the mud. After searching and digging, they finally pulled the dog out and saved his life.

If they hadn’t spotted him, a little more time could have cost him his life.

Huge respect to these people. They risked their own lives to save a helpless animal. Humanity at its best.

1. Feeding dogs is absolutely legal in this country. Please go read the laws.
2. We are not a developed country- there are many countries in this world who happily co exist with the dogs on the streets. Italy, Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Mexico, Thailand, Bhutan etc etc are few of them.
3. A country like Tanzania managing its street dog population mainly because of collaborating with caregivers, feeders and animal welfare groups.
4. People like you don’t have the guts to question the authorities who have let the dog population to explode. It’s their responsibility to conduct timely vaccination and sterilisation drives.
5. It’s all in the mindset. Learn to co exist. You just have to be friendly with them. Nothing else. If you can’t, buzz off to the moon. Because street dogs in India ain’t going anywhere. Not in your lifetime at least.
