Very excited to share 3D Live-Seq. Integrated live-cell imaging and single-cell DNAseq of the same tumor #organoids. We reconstruct evolving tumor genomes over multiple consecutive cell divisions to map the tempo and patterns of karyotype diversification https://t.co/FPGaP48eck
1) Excited to share a ms entitled: Integrin-activating Yersinia protein Invasin sustains long-term expansion of primary epithelial cells as 2D #organoid sheets. It describes an alternative to #Matrigel

New publication alert🚨🚨🚨Mechanisms that clear mutations drive field cancerization in mammary tissue is out @Nature https://t.co/z4qZwpV7uu Congratulations all for this great team work! 🎉
1. Delighted to present work from my time in @AndreaSottoriva's lab, now in @NatureCancer! A big effort also led by @javierfermat and Nick Trahearn.
We combined genomics + digital pathology to measure evolution in a prostate cancer (PCa) clinical trial.

How do mismatch repair-deficient (MMRd) cancers trade off the evolutionary costs and benefits of elevated mutation rates?
Delighted to share our paper on adaptive mutability in MMRd colorectal cancer (CRC) @NatureGenet

Very much love this story to demonstrate that adaptability during tumor evolution can also be achieved at the DNA level by reversible DNA mutations 🔥

Hypermutator cancers are defined by increased mutation rates.
But do mutation rates evolve with time during tumour growth?⏱️
In this work @NatureGenet we show that hypermutator cancers use an unexpected set of genetic gear switches to adapt mutation rates to immune selection.
Looking forward to present tomorrow morning at #FEBS2024. I’ll discuss our work on real-time single-cell signaling activities in #organoids, drug response and our latest push to advance the technologies involved @UMCU_CMM @oncodeinstitute
Check our our latest publication on mouse and human gastruloids in Cell Stem Cell, spearheaded by @Suz_Stelloo with help from @MayteAlVin and many others in our lab and in collaboration with labs of Boudewijn Burgering, Harm Jan Vos, Maarten Altelaar and @SonnenKatharina
We are now live! Register for the 2nd OrganoidNL meeting @_amolf on April 12 🗓️.
Exciting talks with opening @HansClevers, keynote Margherita Turco, and talks from @JeroenPasterk@ColindaScheele, Rob Coppes and Quiwei Pan.

Extremely honoured to receive the ERC Consolidator this year #ERCCoG. Looking forward to the next 5 years of exciting science to unravel the intricacies how tumors become malignant. #CancerPrevention @UMCU_CMM @oncodeinstitute
Our lastest study "Targeted Perturbation of Signaling-Driven Condensates" is now live on Molecular Cell. We've used small peptides to specificaly disrupt β-catenin condensates, resulting in decreased transcription and inhibition of cancer cell proliferation. 🔬💡 📖 Read more:
Is #cancer drug resistance heritable or plastic? Genetic or non-genetic? How do we tell those apart? We just begun measuring the temporal dynamics of evolving cancers using controllable patient-derived #organoids. We need more experiments+theory! https://t.co/UpsVHe8m7d

We welcome Sjors Middelkamp as our newest postdoc. He got off to a great start this week, being immediately awarded the NWO talent grant ‘Veni’ to continue his research on single-cell genome sequencing that he developed in the @BoxtelLab.
@UMCU_CMM @NWOFunding@oncodeinstitute
NWO has awarded Veni funding of up to EUR 280,000 to 188 promising researchers from the full breadth of science. This will allow the laureates to further develop their own research ideas over the next three years.

Very proud to see our work on the pan-cancer comparison of the genomic landscapes of primary and metastatic tumor published in this weeks issue of Nature: https://t.co/oLm0fNHfFf. @fran_mj88@arne_van_hoeck@HartwigMedical @UMCU_CMM @oncodeinstitute@VHIO
I am super happy to share the first work of the lab on #gastruloids. All started with @MariettaLHartl that was extremely brave to start a new project on early development. https://t.co/t8eZU5IxgE With @SimonSuppinger they showed mechanisms of gastruloid development
