Fascinating latest findings from @cancergrand@SpecifiCancer team exploring how cancers in different parts of the body use unique strategies to avoid attack by the immune system. This innovative thinking could lead to more effective cancer treatments https://t.co/l5g8npNOku

We found that one of the reasons why Apc is a potent tumour suppressor in the intestine is that once it’s lost in a stem cell, notum a wnt target gene will inhibit wnt signalling in neighbouring stem cells. This allows Apc mutant cells to “win”. More details in Dusty’s thread
How do mutants win the game of clones? 🏆🤷
In this week's @Nature, Dustin Flanagan @CRUK_BI + @owen_sansom, with the great @KatajistoLab and @SPECIFICANCER team, find out how APC mutations cause #cancer in the #gut ... with help from NOTUM

Amy Schade and Karen Cichowski of our SPECIFICANCER team discuss the importance of mentorship. Amy joined Karen's lab (@BrighamWomens) as a postdoctoral research fellow in 2019.

The @KevinHaigisLab and @peter_j_park labs show that KRAS mutations across multiple cancer types have allele- and tissue-specific mutagenic origins, comutation patterns, and dependency interactions

Team's patient advocate representative, Fran Visco has invited two leading scientists, Dr. Elledge and Dr. Cichowski to the conversation. They explained the team's research to the public.

#CancerGrandChallenges partnership between @CR_UK and NCI has been ceremonially signed. “The two largest funders of cancer research unite to define a new era in research and discovery for the future benefit of patients with cancer.” – Dr. Iain Foulkes @Iain_CRUK@NCIDirector
To prevent the spread of #COVID19, HHMI Investigator Steve Elledge’s lab has emptied out. However, he, Nouran Abdelfattah (@Abdelfattah_NS) (shown), & six other researchers have continued working in person, under new safety rules, studying the coronavirus: https://t.co/sEFurOWoJO
Today is #GivingTuesdayNow, a global day of unity and giving. The #coronavirus outbreak has slowed us down, but we will never stop. If you can, please visit https://t.co/g7ct88Tdr1 to make a donation towards our life-saving research
Three new studies from @KevinHaigisLab at @BIDMChealth have revealed that cancer disease incidence and severity are influenced by the specific type of #KRAS mutation, as well as by the tissue in which the mutation is located. https://t.co/fw5thSeHbw
