@KAdyeri2@WalmartThomist People remembered the Sabbath and have been keeping it holy for over 5,000 years. The covenant has changed but worship remains the same as established by the Father, Himself.
@TonyG_in_LV@WalmartThomist But seriously, this fails because Mass exists for gathering together to Worship. I've attended Mass in a home before. It is defined by the liturgy of worship which was already in existence at the writing of the Didache during the time of the Apostles.
@PrivateEyeball@WalmartThomist Does your parish offer a vigil Mass on Saturday evening or are you working both days?
If you work both days and have no other options, you'll find that the Church knows you need to make a living. If you feel guilty about it, I'd recommend bringing it up in confession.
@GuerillaLawyer The low IQ individual cannot distinguish between falsehood and speculation.
If his point is that the hierarchy of angels is not in the Bible - fine. That is partially true. The Bible makes no claim to contain all truth.
@wrapologetics@Dark_Justice_21@ApostateProphet@CapturingChrist Way to walk back your entire argument in the end. You started by rebuking the commandment to keep the Sabbath!
Curious if you actually know any valid reasons to miss Mass and what is so unfair about them?
@wrapologetics@Dark_Justice_21@ApostateProphet@CapturingChrist Following your argument: we can ignore the commandments?
Also, Mass is so much more than going to a "building". We are resting in the very Presence of Christ Himself. If you believe that and turn your back on it - those are some pretty clear insights into your salvation.
@Leondero@Dark_Justice_21@ApostateProphet@CapturingChrist You should know that working on Sunday is a reasonable excuse to miss Mass without creating a mortal sin.
You should also know that Mass is offered Saturday and Sunday nights.
Attending a 1 hour Mass is hardly a "yoke".
Bit of strawman on your part.
@c__blakeley@MrHospinkon@LogosFunction Not everything in a council is dogmatic. We agree on the actual dogma of papal primacy and infallibility. Other parts are definitive teachings, and other parts just pastoral guidance.
@LogosFunction@MrHospinkon So which of you protestant denominations are not operating in the spirit? And how do you know it isn't yourself?
Catholics are in the Spirit as we agree to a single Truth.
Hope this helps.
@FrankLets78822 But you aren't arguing against obedience, so why is it an issue?
37Β Do not believe me unless I do the works of my Father. 38Β But if I do them, even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.β
@InBTCWeTrust_86@peterboghossian Inasmuch as you celebrate your own death...
No man is an island,
Entire of itself...
Each man's death diminishes me,
For I am involved in mankind.
Therefore, send not to know
For whom the bell tolls,
It tolls for thee.
