Hi folks, I’m afraid it’s time for me to say goodbye. Not just leaving Twitter, but the whole show. I’ve been battling cancer last 2 years, but now only have a few days left now. Thank you wonderful people, I leave this crazy world with much love in my heart ❤️

[Rosanne Rademaker @RL_Rademaker]

As a PI, I love talk-invitations and find inspiration in visiting new labs. As a single mom of 2 under 10, I was paying out of pocket for care to enable such trips. It was starting to really add up. So half a year ago I began asking for reimbursement for care costs… (1/2)

Thanks @postlelab, especially for the awesome pun 😎

Thanks Earl and Tim for your contribution, a complex and dynamic read 😁

Working Memory Is Complex and Dynamic, Like Your Thoughts

What’s the relation between this golf shot and dynamic coding in PFC? Hint: the hole is an attractor state and the path of the ball is a trajectory in neural state space. Just as it’s often suboptimal to hit the ball directly at the hole, it’s the same in neural circuits! 1/4

@smfleming @Alexandra_Pike Thanks Steve

Thanks Eelke for your contribution! And also for the happy memories :)

[Eelke Spaak 🦋 @EelkeSpaak.bsky.social @EelkeSpaak]

I have extremely fond memories of my time in @StokesNeuro's lab. Alumni got together and wrote about the example set by Mark. Thanks to @Alexandra_Pike and @NoonanMP for the initiative, and to @postlelab for setting up the JoCN Special Focus of which this is part. (PDF in thread)

@jorgefmejias Thanks Jorge

Thank YOU Darinka!

[Darinka Truebutschek @DTruebutschek]

A little bit different from my typical cog neuro research, but, nevertheless, such an interesting and important topic. All too often, we tend to forget that science is done by groups of people, and that lab culture matters. Thanks @StokesNeuro for having been such an inspiration!

[Mark Stokes @StokesNeuro]

Thanks Sam ☺️

[Mark Stokes @StokesNeuro]

This is amazing, thanks Alex et al for putting this together. I’m honoured by the kind words, but also very proud of your collective wisdom. Thanks for the inspiration you have all provided me over the years. Continue doing wonderful things!

[Dr Alex Pike @Alexandra_Pike]

A bunch of @StokesNeuro's trainees (from many points in time) put together a list of '10 simple rules for a supportive lab environment', inspired by the example he set. This has been a wonderful moment of reflection for me personally, as I start my own lab https://t.co/FctwQw0dFi

[Elkan Akyurek @elkanakyurek]

It’s been a long journey, but we have a new preprint out on the representation of items in working memory before and after mental transformation. Featuring Guven Kandemir @mijowolff @aytckrby @StokesNeuro & Nikolai Axmacher. Sneak peek below. https://t.co/DKhfzKAIl1

[Mark Stokes @StokesNeuro]

Wow, thank you Brad for heroic efforts organising this, and everyone for their contributions! I’m really overwhelmed, and look forward to making my way through the best reading list ever :)

I think it's probably time to share this...I wrote a book. It's coming out in dec 2022 (in theory). It is intended to help cognitive scientists, neuroscientists and AI researchers find a common language for talking about computation and intelligence.
