Truth may come out late, but it will eventually come out.

For months, leaders of Telugu Desam Party claimed that technology giant Google chose Visakhapatnam because of their effort and influence. That narrative has now collapsed. Official communication has made it clear that the responsibility for construction and operations of the proposed data center rests with Adani Group, and the process traces back to decisions taken during the tenure of Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

At a time when the propaganda claiming credit was at its peak, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had clearly stated that the credit for bringing the project should go to Adani. Today, that statement stands validated on record. Letters and cabinet discussions now confirm that Google itself identified Adani as its partner and advised the state that future dealings should be routed through the group.

Following this, proposals related to transferring land rights and operational responsibilities came up for deliberation in the cabinet. Besides the 480 acres earlier allotted in Visakhapatnam, the government also considered allocating an additional 170 acres.

The facts now contradict the publicity campaign that tried to portray the project as a fresh achievement of the present dispensation. The investment agreement, the identification of the partner, and the foundation for the project were laid earlier. What was loudly advertised as political credit has turned out to be a continuation of groundwork initiated in YSRCP regime
