Before the Prasar Bharati Amendment Act, 2011, all employees—whether recruited directly by Prasar Bharati/SSC or on deemed deputation—enjoyed equal benefits. Our salaries were paid securely from the Consolidated Fund of India (CFI) as a Grant-in-Aid through the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (MIB).
We had:
CGHS medical coverage for quality healthcare
CGEGIS group insurance for financial security
GPRA housing under Central Pool accommodation
Pension, gratuity, and all standard service benefits
Common sense demands that with time, employee benefits, salaries, and social security should strengthen — not vanish.
Yet, in a shocking reversal, everything we once took for granted was systematically revoked for employees recruited after 5 October 2007, in the name of “autonomous body” status.
Post-2007 recruits lost CGHS & CGEGIS gradually after the 2012 Amendment, fully withdrawn by 2020.
Pension rights and family pensions denied to deceased employees’ families.
GPRA housing benefits removed, forcing employees to pay exorbitant market rents in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and other metros.
Promotions blocked, leaving new recruits stagnating at Grade Pay ₹4200/₹2400 for nearly two decades.

💔 No Family Pension for Prasar Bharti Employees
Late Jyoti Prakash Trivedi (DD News) died fighting cancer, denied Medical treatment and family pension due to the 5 October 2007 cutoff date.
Late Ankur Saxena (HPT Bundi) and Late Rahul Deshmukh (DDK Bhopal) also passed away; their families left destitute without terminal benefits.
Instead of compassion, MIB and PB dragged widows through court battles, denying the very social security promised by our Constitution.

The “Separation of Posts” Excuse Is Manufactured 🛑
All AIR/DD posts were transferred to Prasar Bharati effective 01.04.2000 under Section 11 of the Prasar Bharati Act, eliminating dual cadres within PB.
Now, promotions are stalled by dividing employees into “deemed-deputationists” and “PB recruits.” This is:
• Artificial — same establishment, hierarchy, duties.
• Discriminatory — same work, different rights.
• Ultra vires — contrary to the Act post-transfer.
If an EA/Technician performs identical work, why separate streams for promotions, freezing one for 18 years? This violates Articles 14 & 16 and service-law fairness.
One organization. One establishment. One promotion ladder.
Implement promotions as per CAT’s directions.

For 18 years, not a single Prasar Bharati Engineer has been promoted. Even after all seats were transferred to Prasar Bharati on 1 April 2000, promotions remain stalled.
On 6 Aug 2024, Hon’ble CAT, New Delhi directed @MIB_India & @prasarbharati to implement promotions. Yet, more than a year later, the order is ignored. Instead of complying, MIB continues to fight contempt cases against its own employees!
This endless delay has destroyed morale. There are no shortages of vacancies—thousands of posts lie vacant. If promotions are given, it will strengthen Prasar Bharati, not weaken it. Engineers who have given decades of service are demoralised, discriminated, and left without career growth.
We urge @AshwiniVaishnaw Ji, @DrLMurugan ji @sjaju1 Ji, @navneetsehgal3 ji @GauravDwivedi95 to immediately honour the CAT order, finalise promotion procedures, and end this injustice.
Enough delay. Justice delayed is justice denied.

We request @prasarbharati to treat this as IPD under special case norms (OM 15.07.2014) & allow full reimbursement. Dialysis isn't optional—it's survival.
We, the employees of @prasarbharati, are consistently denied proper medical facilities.
Those recruited after 2007 have no CGHS access, face rejection at hospitals, and suffer huge financial losses.

आज हमारे एक साथी, जो आकाशवाणी प्रयागराज में पदस्थ हैं और पिछले 6 वर्षों से तेजपुर जैसी कठिन पोस्टिंग पर कार्यरत थे, दिल्ली में NABM में प्रशिक्षण हेतु आए हुए थे। आज सुबह अचानक उनकी तबीयत बिगड़ गई और वह कोमा में चले गए।
साथ में रुके सहयोगी ने उन्हें तत्परता से फोर्टिस हॉस्पिटल, वसंत कुंज पहुंचाया। लेकिन चूंकि यह अस्पताल PBHS (Prasar Bharati Health Scheme) से एमपैनल्ड नहीं है, इसलिए इलाज का खर्च अत्यधिक हो रहा है।
👉 यह दुखद घटना फिर यह याद दिलाती है कि हर कर्मचारी के लिए एक प्रभावी, सुलभ और व्यापक मेडिकल पॉलिसी कितनी जरूरी है।
👉 संकट की घड़ी में किसी भी कर्मचारी या उसके परिवार को आर्थिक संकट से नहीं गुजरना चाहिए।
👉 PBHS के अंतर्गत और अधिक अस्पतालों को शामिल किया जाए और इसके संचालन में पारदर्शिता व तत्परता लाई जाए।
🙏 हम प्रसार भारती के अधिकारियों से अपील करते हैं कि एक अच्छी, व्यावहारिक और कर्मचारी हितैषी मेडिकल पॉलिसी का शीघ्र समाधान किया जाए, जिससे भविष्य में कोई भी कर्मचारी इस प्रकार की मानसिक व आर्थिक पीड़ा से न गुजरे।
