in her sleep
she kicks her paws
jogs my memory
and I remember
I am never alone

Posting cause I miss the comforting presence of my ole girl. Its been a week and i wish I had my girl to cuddle with ๐
cold nose
sometimes
another world
pulled her in
she would drift
too far inside
until even the ground
felt distant
the dogs knew
what to do
a pull
at her clothes
a cold nose
against her hand
anything
to remind her
which world
she belonged to

Sheโd forgotten her hatโicicles were forming on the ends of her hairโand her shoes were wet from the Chicago streets, but the ancient fur-lined gloves grandma gave her protected her.

It held her dreams and captured her tears, but never her losses. Those happened elsewhere, in text messages and rooms with beeping machines. If only her pillow had arms to cradle her.

Afloat on a lush green meadow in a
soft frond boat Drifting through secret valleys of fern and lichen
Senses are filled and spill with rich
tones of compost and regrowth
Dirt turns into
amino acids
turns into
proteins
turns into
cells
turns into
tissue
turns into
organs
turns into
the body of life
Jack and Jill
go up the hill
to play
but they fall
back into the
dirt
one day
