I really enjoyed learning about Media Multiplexity Theory. For me, it was one of those things you learn more about and think, "Yeah that just makes sense." Then when I thought back on all of my relationships with people I could connect the dots easily and compare. #UTcommtheory

@LillianShermans I'm sure there are people who think agenda-setting is bad, but content moderation is also agenda-setting and those people have to sift through tons of content to deem stuff too inappropriate to share. Honestly, I'm thankful someone is able to do that. #UTcommtheory

Back during the riots in summer of 2020, there was a lot of change going on in Seattle which resulted in the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ for short). This came during a rise in the "Defund the Police" movement and Fox News published an article with a handful #UTcommtheory

The speed at which algorithms and gatekeeping are able to switch between my interests (especially on TikTok) is astounding and almost scary. I will talk about a certain game or show with a friend and be getting fed content for it within hours. #UTcommtheory

I definitely believe agenda setting is still relevant. I would even argue that it is even more relevant now that a multitude of niche groups now have platforms that easily feed them the content they are looking for and connects them to others in the same community. #UTcommtheory

@LillianShermans Disney has become a relatively scary enterprise in my eyes. They control so much media (especially for vulnerable crowds like children) that they could easily influence the masses. It's a shame they don't use it to spread better, more inclusive messages. #UTcommtheory

I have a parasocial relationship with the McElroy brothers. I started listening to their comedy podcast (MBMBAM) at least ten years ago, then I started listening to their DnD podcast (TAZ) 4 years ago. Their comedy and content brings me a lot of enjoyment #UTcommtheory

@MattKlacik06 You wouldn't believe how accurate this is for me since I work in education! Although there's nothing bad about the messages teachers and administration are sharing, some of the messages are just not intended for the kids we work around to hear #UTcommtheory

technology really helped people avoid feeling any worse than they already were. Being able to video chat, text, or even play games with your friends probably helped many people make it through the pandemic without feeling extreme loneliness. #UTcommtheory
