For 250 years, the United States of America has stood for freedom, resilience, and opportunity. As we honor this historic milestone, we reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who secured our nation's independence and renew our dedication to serving those who serve.
Tactical Air Support recently supported a training detachment for the Royal Netherlands Air Force. We appreciate the opportunity to provide relevant and cost-effective training to our international partners.
Seven years to the day after the first flight of the F-5 Advanced Tiger (AT), Tactical Air Support flew through 15,000 Class A Mishap Free Flight Hours. Congratulations to the entire Tactical Air Support Team and to “Sled” for being the one to mark to this amazing milestone.
Space is the ultimate high ground, and as @NASA ensures American leadership in the pursuit of science and discovery, I am grateful knowing @SecWar Hegseth and his @USSpaceForce guardians are standing watch in service of our national security. As the President made clear in his Executive Order, superiority in space is not optional.
Recognizing excellence matters.
Yesterday, I flew Ashley and Daniel from the @NASAKennedy workforce in my F-5s.
Ashley has served at NASA for almost 9 years, and currently works in Systems Engineering and Integration for Exploration Ground Systems, helping ensure the infrastructure behind exploration missions is ready when it’s needed. Daniel has served at NASA for 23 years, currently working as a Manager of the Ground and Mission Operations Office for Commercial Crew, supporting the day-to-day execution that keeps human spaceflight moving safely and reliably.
Ashley and Daniel represent the kind of talent and commitment that exists across NASA. They’re the first of what I hope will be hundreds of opportunities to recognize and reward the people who show up every day to do hard things and change the world.
Come join the Tactical Air Support team this week at the 2026 AIAA SciTech Forum, Booth 210, to learn how our test team can support your flight test program with our advanced F-5 aircraft.
Administrator Isaacman has an extensive background in aviation and has generously made his privately owned F-5 aircraft available for NASA workforce incentive flights, flyovers, participation in America’s 250th birthday celebrations, and to inspire the next generation to take an interest in STEM fields and contribute to the greatest adventure in human history.
All costs associated with these flights are covered by the Administrator, with zero burden to the taxpayer. On his first day, he publicly committed to responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars, including covering these costs personally, donating his salary to Space Camp, and ensuring NASA delivers on its world-changing mission efficiently and with urgency.
So keep an eye out at rocket launches and Space Coast airshows. If you are an accomplished @NASA employee doing exceptional work, there will be opportunities ahead to take to the skies with the @NASAAdmin. 🛫
At NASA, we take to the skies for training, cutting-edge flight test programs, to send our astronauts to space, and to inspire the next generation to look up and imagine what is possible.
Today, we had the opportunity to fly @LaraLeaTrump and @EricTrump over NASA’s Kennedy Space Center, and to show them where history is being made on the ground, including a visit to the Vehicle Assembly Building and the Artemis II rocket that will send NASA astronauts farther into space than ever before.
We were honored to host you where America reaches for the stars.
On 26 March 2019, Tactical Air Support flew the first sortie of the F-5 Advanced Tiger, an internally designed and funded Advanced Adversary training jet. Since that time, we’ve flown more than 14,000 hrs. Congratulations to “Gucci” for being the one to fly through the milestone.
