I’m finally getting my wish. I’m moving from 4th grade to Kindergarten. Many have asked what I need; thanks to an AMAZING woman, I do not need much! Feel free to check out my wishlist for those "little extras". I'm so excited for next year! #clearthelist

@ShineBrightKR I definitely struggle with handling my stress. I spend a lot of time making my students feel comfortable and loved. I tell them daily how proud I am of their resilience and perseverance. I need to take some of my own words for myself 🤷🏽♀️#WUEDT6020
@ms_maxwell181 Since I introduced Flipgrid, my students have really enjoyed doing discussion boards with it. They send me videos and respond to classmates with videos. #WUEDT6020
@mrs_mulford We have recess daily and depending on the marking period they have gym class. We also take mask breaks and walk around the perimeter of the building. #WUEDT6020
@JenniferSpeth I haven’t tried it, actually never thought about it. But now I’m intrigued. I’m interested in ways to make it work for a 4th grade classroom. #WUEDT6020
@EvelynB48974922 It is definitely harder to motivate this year. I used to have friendly competitions all the time, but with the amount of time we’re given I barely have time for what is important and with DeSSA starting in a few weeks I don’t know how to make anything work. #WUEDT6020
@EDTElizabeth I don’t use my videos and screen recordings for new instruction because I’m hybrid. Most of my students don’t log on for asynchronous work so I’m afraid they won’t get the instruction. I only post videos of extra help or review of a skill. #WUEDT6020
@Ashley_Wilmu I asked that same question, but I’m hybrid. Even with students in the classroom I’m still struggling with how to hold them and their parents accountable. I have a student that has missed 30 days of school already. What am I supposed to do with that? #WUEDT6020
@ct55612 After a PD last week, and the help of this class, I decided to take the plunge and use Flipgrid. The students were very open to it, especially after I said it was like TikTok. I look forward to their videos this week. They loved mine 🤣 #WUEDT6020
@AmandaOberdick That has been my biggest issue, remembering to use the tools as an enhancement. Also many times I abort a piece of technology because they aren’t getting it and try something else before giving it a good try. #WUEDT6020
@Ashley_Wilmu I, personally, LOVE having them back in school. It helps so much with their focus. It is a struggle with the modified curriculum to ensure they are ready for state testing and to add technology on top 😖. Overall, they are doing better in person. Good luck!
@Ashley_Wilmu@McCoolWILMu I believe using PLC time to get help with technology is a great idea. As a hybrid teacher, some of the technology that is used remotely has been challenging for my students. But I do enjoy learning new ways to encourage my students. #WUEDT6020
@JenniferSpeth I’m taking this advice for myself. I have been struggling trying to get my students to embrace technology. We finally have Schoology down so I utilize it often in the classroom as well. #WUEDT6020
@SarahQJ My advice to an educator who is struggling with technology is to not give up. I am that educator that struggles and I have to remind myself daily that it has to get better. Some days I’m right, some days I’m not. It’s been a challenge! #WUEDT6020
@MrsWarren182@EdtSteph09 Sadly, I’m having the same issue of integrity with my 4th graders. They didn’t get to the all important units of multiplication last year so this year they are struggling and will reach for a calculator to help them. #WUEDT6020
@EvelynB48974922@McCoolWILMu In the area we are in, the internet is so unreliable I don’t require them to have their cameras on as long as when I call on them they respond. It uses so much bandwidth to zoom. The attendance has gotten better for me though.
@SarahQJ The biggest challenge I have faced during remote learning is participation and access. To help overcome the access issue, the district has provided hot spots for qualified students. Participation is still low, but not as low with the hot spots. #WUEDT6020
