Congratulations!

South African Kirsten Neuschafer, Summerside’s adopted daughter, wins the Golden Globe race. Amazing. 👏👏👏 🇨🇦 🇿🇦“And many people in the channel of Les Sables d'Olonne to greet Queen Kirsten” #PEI
@WaterfrontTO I would not call this portal a gateway to the waterfront since it's located at the middle of the central waterfront and when the train comes out it's leaving the core waterfront area. It's more like a gateway to and from an underground tunnel. The canopy would block views.
@WaterfrontTO The canopies seem unnecessary and create an additional visual barrier from the north side of Queens Quay (where I live). The portal does not need to be celebrated, it should be visually minimized.
Here's the final version of the global population density graphic I made, because another one that is circulating was less well defined, and someone cropped NZ off it
@antirealist57@JohnLorinc@CrosstownTO The City may have the right but I bet most Councillors would prefer not to piss off all their parking pad constituents and leave them with orphaned pads that will need substantial landadcaping
Imagine if we wrapped cars this way.
“There’s no excuse for running a red”
“Speeding is stealing others’ safety”
“You really don’t need a vehicle this large”
“When you park, be sure to pay”
This! The turning movements of giant fire trucks and garbage trucks continues to define minimum curb radii and pavement widths in Toronto. This design allows cars to zip around corners while endangering pedestrians. Smaller trucks would save lives and make streets more pleasant.
These compact fire trucks are widely used across the Netherlands.
Not only do they improve maneuverability and safety, they enable streets to be redesigned for slower speeds and shorter crossing distances.
Design your service vehicles to fit your city. Not the other way around.
