Our mistake in tech was allowing lawnmower-managers to take over. It’s caused manager bloat, layers, and 1:1 overload. Let’s undo? 🧵

We build and train a Transformer following the "Attention Is All You Need" paper in the language modeling setting and end up with the core of nanoGPT.

Putting aside $$s for a moment is there anyone who would rather have the next generation using closed, centralised, corporate-aligned AI versus open, customised and personally-aligned AI?

It’s a choice we can make right now at the start of this crazy takeoff 🛫 🚀 🌟

Covid originated at a wet market in a town (a) containing an institute of virology (b) that was currently engaged in research on coronaviruses and (c) had a major safety emergency at exactly the same time? What an amazing coincidence.
