@NyxiaNoire Then get it down in a contract, stop assuming it comes default. By default u are entitled to is the non commercial rights of the end product. Unless stated otherwise in TOS or contract. Rigging is an artform after all. But i do agree it should be common to include in the contract
@jearldster3 Many of these complaints would also be minimized if people actually negotiate with their provider/artist. The TOS they provide is often just a template and has room to change for a change in price ofc. But instead they assume. If its not in the contract dont assume u will get it.
@jearldster3 There is a difference between standards and common practices. Inn copyright it's a dangerous thing to assume. The standard/bare minimum is copyright law, everything else has to be explicitly stated inn a contract. It's common for big companies since they often know what they want
@jearldster3@PsytheStudent Theres nothing in the way of sharing source files, other than its hard to enforce copyright as a freelancer unless u got the cash. And the client is not entitled to source files unless it's agreed upon in the Contract. Copyright is just the minimum protection made by the state
@Z796438458308@FFmpeg There's a difference between reversengineering and translation/portinh, this most likely falls under porting to another language using AI. At best its a grey area at worst might even be illegal with how copyleft licensing works, and the fact they changed the license.
@mikulasflorek@MakotoIchinose6 Still comparing apples to oranges, a more fair comparison would be to test it against the Windows settings window, im guessing the editor loads the whole settings menu on demand anyways.
@awwright@LukeDashjr@rovarma U cant lump all linux distro's into one bucket, shure they use the linux kernel, but that's often the only similarity. The base distro's like arch debian or fedora, need to be seen at as seperat OS's. It would be like saying that the iPad and Mac share the same OS.
@AzraelSch@KeruboSk Cancelation applies to anything work inn progress. many contracts have a clause saying the work still needs to be paid inn some capacity delivered or not, as long as it's the client that cancelled the order. Any person hates their time being wasted when money is on the line.
@rhiyddun@0xlelouch_ Yes i believe that is correct, C was bootstraped a long time ago so most C compilers are written in C with some parts still in assembly, same as many other low level languages which have compilers made with its own language
@rhiyddun@0xlelouch_ C is assembly, assembly is bytecode, bytecode is binary, binary is 'on' or 'off', on or off is specialty rocks etched and processed into becoming switches.
@C131Sanchez@nixcraft Inn theory it should work on any Linux that supports the commands it sends to the pc, mainly using HID and a command shell. It works by sending keystrokes on insertion.
@BlackDan01@VariousRegards@GundamIsHere Ye the AAA games sector is in a bad state for good while now, what was once known to push to the bleeding had become stagnant and regurgitation of the same stuff.
@DannyWolfofTech i dont think github is going anywear, but i think compile doc's need to be better inn many repos. there are way to many variables inn that regard.
Github already is a big distributer of misc software, it serve a dual purpos both as a co development hub, and a distribution hub
@DannyWolfofTech@Azadux the counter argument to that is, if ur a developer and distributing software, make it as easy as feasible for the end user or other devs, some project u would need to be a mentalist or ask to be given a instructions on how to compile, somthing that shoul be written in the docs.
@Kyvlash@thiojoe@grok IMO its never not having precombiles bianries. its mostly that most times the compile instructions ranges from workabel, to pure and utter hocus pocus if there even are writen anything. if its meant to be a personal project i dont care, but bigger project really grinds my gears.
@FFmpeg Looks like alot of friction out of the gate for new people, but hey if it works it works, any reason for not accepting PR's, but rather patches trough the mailinglist? or is it just hard to migrate over?
@mtc@FFmpeg one could integrate IRC alongside a VOIP service. dont belive it would to hard to make a client that can talk to both. but i dont know if it would be worse or better than a service that does both
