I’m just working on setting up this brand new account. I just added a banner image from this wonderful resource! I’m not sure how to do attribution for a banner image yet, so I’m pinning this in the meantime.

.@networkrail The ableism detailed in this 🧵 is unacceptable. Not every passenger is new and in need of your lecture. We must have the option to decline unneeded, time-wasting lectures without losing our right to access. Stop infantilizing us. Respect that we know our needs.
Was just fully denied the right to travel today at Liverpool St Stn, on any train, because @networkrail staff collectively refused to deploy a ramp for me.
Why? One of them claimed I was “rude” for telling him I didn’t need the lecture he was giving me on why they’d failed to …
9/9 US airlines also are petitioning DOT to rescind protections for disabled travelers, even those in wheelchairs. Imagine putting so much money into fighting AGAINST better treatment of passengers.
And your exit row seat is paying for all those lawyers.

American, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest, United, & their lobbying org Airlines for America petitioned Fifth Circuit to invalidate a rule on accommodating disabled passengers, even those in wheelchairs.
Think about that the next time you fly these airlines.

Ableist airlines @AmericanAir@Delta@JetBlue@SouthwestAir seek to invalidate the Dec. 2024 USDOT regulation “Ensuring Safe Accommodations for Air Travelers with Disabilities Using Wheelchairs,” one of @PeteButtigieg’s many efforts to improve accessibility for disabled people.🤬
.@FAANews: FAA staff fired over the weekend included personnel that worked radar, landing and navigational aid maintenance, among others. Hundreds were fired, just weeks after a fatal mid-air collision in DC killed 67. One employee said they were harassed on Facebook by @DOGE prior to being fired. https://t.co/4BXVfKtgWh
To summarize: Elon Musk, in his government capacity, went into the FAA and fired hundreds of air traffic controllers. Now two weeks later, Elon Musk, in his capacity as CEO of SpaceX, is in the FAA looking to privatize the very jobs he eliminated
The skies were safe under Buttigieg. Planes can't stop crashing under you. It was THIS White House that pushed out the FAA administrator, that implemented a federal hiring freeze (which included air traffic controllers), that disbanded the Aviation Security Advisory Committee, that "ENDED DEI MADNESS AND RESTORED EXCELLENCE AND SAFETY WITHIN THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION."
Take some responsibility for your own actions. Sack up and stop blaming everyone else for your own incompetence.
NEWS: After passing the Senate last Congress, we reintroduced our bipartisan bill to make it easier for parents to travel through airports with breast milk and breastfeeding supplies.
All parents should be able to travel with dignity and respect. 🍼 https://t.co/HtFETa1K0O
New: Sen. Tammy Duckworth is reintroducing a bipartisan bill to make air travel easier for breastfeeding parents. The legislation passed the Senate by unanimous consent last seesion
By far the most transformational Transportation Secretary for people with disabilities, especially in a department that has oversees one of the most important parts of everyday life. I wrote about Buttigieg's disability policy in my book and he implemented plenty of chage in DC.
Everyone remember Brian - who felt he was aggrieved because people on his flight to Florida were in wheelchairs yet able to board plane without assistance?
Brian felt it appropriate to photograph them & complain to the airline.
What’s worse, the airline pandered to him. /1 🧵
