Mike Hall said @hydroottawa [is] the most difficult employer.
“It’s old-school...They think if they have lots of grievances they’re managing their people properly. But how is that 2023 thinking? In all my other employers, the goal is zero grievances.”

For the 2nd time @hydroottawa deferred its 2022 annual presentation to @ottawacity council.
Is it because they didn't want to face their workers who showed up in impressive numbers yesterday?
Day 79, but as this picture shows - they are not broken. They are united and strong.
It has long been practice @ottawalabour to have a union local who is on strike or locked out, if any, lead our Labour Day March. This year @IBEWLocal636 will be at the front. #LabourDay2023
To put an end to this strike, we've suggested binding arbitration multiple times, but @hydroottawa has repeatedly refused.
What are they scared of? A fair deal for their workers?
CEO Bryce Conrad has the power to end this strike and do the right thing for his workers. #Day65
Hydro Ottawa strike is paused, for the HR manager/shot caller for the company to go on vacation. The skeleton crew running the field work would love to be on vacation, and the 395 employees on strike for TEN WEEKS would love to return to work.
A big shoutout to the amazing @OPSEU members for joining striking @hydroottawa workers yesterday on the picket line. ✊
You've inspired our members to organize and fight for safe working conditions, fair wages, and respect.
#Solidarity#StrongerTogether💪
Thanks @theJagmeetSingh for this much needed message of #solidarity for our @hydroottawa members currently on strike for 52 days.
We will continue to stand strong and fight for a safe and fair work environment.
One day longer, one day stronger.✊

Strike Day 52.
#CathyCurry@KanataNorth has yet to reply to our Jul 3 email, Aug 8 phone call or Aug 16 office picket re: safety concerns, grievances and a fair deal.
As a @hydroottawa board member and @ottawacity councillor, what did she and the board approve for this strike?
Over 400 @hydroottawa workers, members of @IBEWLocal636 , have been on strike for almost 2 months—for good jobs, good public services, and a safe and reliable power supply.

🗣️UNFAIR LABOUR PRACTICE
Specifically, our allegations against @hydroottawa include:
🛑Section 70: Employers are not to interfere with the administration of unions
🛑Section 72: Employers are not to interfere with employees' rights
🛑Section 76: Intimidation and coercion
Bryce Conrad of @hydroottawa said it, and so far it holds true.
"Bryce wants to hold the Union out for two months to send a message to the minions to get back in line".

SCAB UPDATE!
@AerialWork1822 has left town today after 'providing what [the owner] called “Band-Aids, bubble gum and duct tape...”' solutions to keep @ottawacity safe.
After 38 days, it's time @hydroottawa offers a fair deal to its unionized workers. ✊
Thanks @cathhmorrison.
