The Prime Cabinet Secretary & CS Foreign & Diaspora Affairs @MusaliaMudavadi in his opening remarks emphasized the growing role of County Assemblies as key pillars in strengthening devolution. He reaffirmed devolution as a transformative foundation of the Constitution.
Held under the theme โResilient County Assemblies: Reinforcing Representation, Oversight and Legislation,โ the Summit brings together all 47 County Assemblies to reflect on milestones achieved over the past decade of devolution, address existing challenges & chart the way forward
Recently, we, alongside @ipf_global, engaged Members of the Turkana County Assembly (@TurkanaAssembly) in a training on budget analysis and public finance oversight at the FoLT Resource Centre.
As Turkana continues to face challenges in access to water, healthcare, education, and livelihoods, the role of the County Assembly in shaping and overseeing how public resources are used remains critical.
The engagement created space to reflect on key issues and discuss how public resources translate into tangible improvements in our peopleโs lives.
This engagement built on our continued work to strengthen participatory governance and accountability in Turkana, ensuring that communities are not only heard, but reflected in how decisions and budgets are made. ๐ ๐๐ฟ
