@JulesKortenhors @energywebx @RMIEmissions Finally, a proper solution that will put an end to the endless 'guessing game' of how much renewable energy is used in #BTC mining and what its net contribution towards real-world #decarbonization is. Outstanding work @energywebx & @RockyMtnInst ๐ค
If you want to learn more about #proofofgreen and how we're partnering with $BTC miners and hosting facilities to drive grid decarbonization, check out @l_m_j_ piece from @protocol, great explainer! https://t.co/WODoPqg78f
Energy Web and @RockyMtnInst are excited to unveil the first draft of our decarbonization approach to electricity in intensive industries. More details are here: https://t.co/g1mNGRkzaF
@ja_morris@energywebx@RockyMtnInst Exactly the type of transparent accounting mechanisms that are needed to no BS decarbonization! So glad that @energywebx and @RockyMtnInst are spearheading a proper solution to replace the existing paper certificate-based mess!
Watch #BCLeaks contributor #ChicoCrypto latest video where he sits down with the Founder & CEO of #EnergyWeb to get the latest on what they have been up to & what they are trying to achieve! Watch the full video ๐ https://t.co/9S09P4Fl1S @energywebx@edhesse79@ja_morris $ewt
@danfriess@NUSCNCS Agree 100% @danfriess! The fact that it hasn't worked in the past due to lack of transparency, dubious accounting, weak frameworks etc doesn't mean we can't make it work. It can be done the right way and we need to stop getting hung up on past mistakes!
@drgorb @PedroPorky15 @energywebx @pabmancam Thanks, @drgorb! I agree that technology isn't necessarily the limiting factor - but rolling it out at this scale requires unprecedented social, political and economic paradigm shifts to happen ASAP. Currently, we're not on track to achieve this - Pls go faster @energywebx $EWT
No one can imagine the scale of #electrification needed for #NetZeroBy2050: "It's not changing the electricity system. It's building a new electricity system. One five times bigger than today's total system and 100 percent clean." @PedroPorky15 @energywebx @pabmancam @drgorb
@NicholasDCarter I agree 100% @NicholasDCarter - My assumption is that tackling any of these fronts would require serious widespread systemic changes and letting go of infinite #GDP growth - all of which is too uncomfortable to talk about on a centre stage like #COP26... DELAY is the new DENIAL๐ค
Agreements to "phase-down" and be "net zero by 2050" are not progress. These are delay tactics to continue business as usual.
Progress would be actually telling the truth about the urgency of the ecological crisis and implementing the transformational solutions.
@GlobalEcoGuy @GlobalEcoGuy: Should this say '..protect and ENHANCE/EXPAND nature's *existing* carbon sinks"? The potential for expanding nature's sinks is very significant and while this shouldn't 'distract' from reducing emissions, we should pursue #natural#climate#solutions relentlessly!
