Yeah, and sadly that popularity is just “congratulations, you fit in… for now”. Nothing unique or special. And it will just as quickly turn on you unless you keep with the fashionable views. At its core, it is all accessorization, and people pursue it when they are lacking elsewhere in their lives.

Yes I’m with you. But in the past there are times where a neutral person could point to missteps by Israel. Even if the ratio is 1:20, both sides have some claims that can be made. Israel is not flawless, but as far as anything recently, they surely don’t deserve what people are doing and saying right now.

So it’s not for some goofy singer to even touch on. It is too complex for him, too complex for his audience, and he’s not going to give hours of history for context. It’s making light of generations of suffering on both sides to bring it up at all.

“Free Palestine” is just the another form of “67”… feels good to be a part of for the brain-rotted until it’s not fashionable anymore. Then they’ll be wearing another emotionally charged fashion accessory that keeps them in the approval and affirmation domain of the superficial horde. They’re there for the emotional release rollercoaster and borrowed sense of personal significance the “movement” lends them.

They skim over the top of these trends like a stone on a lake, never bothering to sink into educating themselves about the nuances and hypocrisies of the incredibly complex situation. Never quietly pondering if maybe they don’t have all the facts.

These are not self-reflective people. These are deeply unserious and undeveloped people.

I’m so glad you brought up the killing of innocent children… I’m guessing you’ll be equally against the endless rocket attacks Israel has endured, some of which killed children? And that you’re also against the many children murderered on October 7th?

The children killed by Hamas on that day were personal face to face murders. Children killed by Israel are tragic innocent bystanders when Israel targets a Hamas member. Morally very different.

Palestinians have been the top recipient of international aid per capita for decades now.

The total international aid to Palestinians since Oslo (1993) exceeds $50 billion. In 2000, per World Bank data, the West Bank and Gaza received $234 per person in aid, the highest figure in the world that year.

Average annual aid over the past decade has run around $2.36 billion, roughly $507 per capita per year. In 2023, Palestinians received $702 per person from an annual total of $3.62 billion in official development assistance.

This was 1.8 times Syria’s aid per capita, 6.7 times Yemen’s and 9.5 times Afghanistan’s.

Compare this to the Marshall Plan: approximately $650 per person (adjusted to today’s dollars) to rebuild all of postwar Europe.

Palestinians have received multiples of that per capita, sustained over decades, without the state-building outcome the Marshall Plan produced.

Palestinians don’t need more aid, they need accountability and leadership.

It would be understandable to have people in this “Free Palestine” movement focused on the Palestinian people’s suffering… while denouncing Hamas and any Palestinian sympathetic to their tactics. They’d even unite many Jews and Israelis under that banner. Some good would even come from it.

But these clowns have zero capacity for nuanced thought and boil it all down to a binary and naive “good vs. bad”. They support Hamas. Even if some don’t, their egos won’t let them say that publicly because it feels like somehow they’re ceding territory to “the other side”.

I’m stunned daily by the Jew hate… are people really this triggered by a minority of, let’s face it, white people who manage to, again let’s face it, excel in any environment they find themselves in because of their cultural pursuit of excellence?

Isn’t that just evidence that other cultures should similarly raise their standards for themselves instead of trying to hate and drag another group down?

I remember being a kid and touring Holocaust museums and everyone in the class feeling that it was so irrelevant because this would never happen today. And here we are, walking the same steps.

What kind of a venomous childish person does someone need to be to not recognize the nuance in these complex geopolitical issues?
