Albanians from Kosovo and northern Albania are widely regarded as having some of the strongest genetic and historical continuity with the ancient populations of the Western Balkans, including the Dardanians and other Illyrian tribes. The DNA results reflect deep roots in this region, reinforcing a connection to communities that have lived here for thousands of years.

Despite persistent attempts by some Serbian nationalists to claim direct Illyrian ancestry, the historical, linguistic and genetic evidence does not support such assertions. The Serbian people arrived in the Balkans during the Slavic migrations of the early Middle Ages, centuries after the Illyrian tribes were already established in the region.

While all Balkan populations share varying degrees of ancient ancestry due to centuries of interaction and mixing, claims that Serbs are the direct descendants of the Illyrians are not supported by mainstream scholarship and remain a political narrative rather than a historical fact. So basically all propaganda bull*it they use to say that Kosovo belongs to them🤦‍♀️.

BREAKING NEWS

There is widespread discussion among the people of Kosova and within the Albanian-American community, based on various sources, that former U.S. diplomat Richard Grenell may be behind the editorial published by U.S. Ambassador Ms. Anu Prattipati.

It is alleged that, knowing he lacks credibility among the people of Kosova due to his openly pro-Serbian stance, he chose not to appear publicly himself but instead exerted pressure on Ambassador Prattipati.

It is further alleged that his objective is to intimidate the people of Kosova and reduce support and votes for Prime Minister Kurti. Former ambassador to Kosova, Jeff Hovenier, is also being used by the oligarchs of the anti-government television Klan Kosova to do the same thing.

If true, this would constitute a blatant interference in the free elections of a genuine and sincere friend of the United States, the Republic of Kosovo, and it deserves to be investigated by the U.S. Congress.

Voter turnout in 🇽🇰 Kosovo’s early parliamentary elections by 11 AM is in the range seen in Dec 2025. Good weather likely resulted in early participation, which suggests turnout could continue to rise during in the day. My working expectation: above 900k voters by close of polls.
