Laureata in Astrofisica, di base dal 2014 @esa Comm Department, sono fermamente convinta che la felicità non è felicità senza una capra che suona il violino
Unboxing a satellite!
The @CopernicusEU Sentinel-1D spacecraft has arrived at the launch site and it has been taken out of its shipping container and put on its dolly.
This dolly holds the satellite in various positions, allowing the engineers to access different parts of the craft.
Cosmic wind of change
#XRISM makes an unexpected discovery: winds from neutron star discs are quite different from those around supermassive black holes.
The discovery could reshape our understanding of the most extreme environments in the Universe 👉 https://t.co/fJTLdkGmxq
Today it was a very special day for us at @esa ESRIN as we had the pleasure to host the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella.
He addressed the scientists and engineers and visited the establishment, including the Phi-experience, the interactive EO centre.
#MediaInvitation: journalists are invited to attend a press conference with ESA Director General @AschbacherJosef at the @ILA_Berlin Air Show on Wednesday 5 June 2024, from 12:45 BST/13:45 CEST. #ILA24

Deployment confirmed for @jaxa_en's Cloud Profiling Radar instrument onboard @esa's #EarthCARE satellite!
As the news states:
" The full deployment of the Earth Cloud Aerosol and Radiation Explorer/Cloud Profiling Radar (EarthCARE/CPR*1) Antenna Main Reflector was confirmed by telemetry data of EarthCARE received at the Troll Satellite Station, Antarctica at 10:14 a.m. on May 30, 2024 (Japan Standard Time, JST)"
⏲👀Rocket stages on the move. Two weeks ago the main stage for Europe's new rocket #Ariane6 left its @ArianeGroup assembly hall in Les Mureaux, France 🇫🇷 on the way to @EuropeSpacePort.
This timelapse of it getting out the door puts the size of the stage into perspective!
There is a good (and likely final) chance to see ERS-2 from central Europe at around 18:30 CET this evening.
Exactly where and when the satellite will be visible depends on your location and cloud cover. Use the links below to plan your observations.
#ERS2reentry
ERS-2 spotted! 📸🛰️
The ESA satellite is on a tumbling descent that will lead to its atmospheric reentry and break up this week.
These images of ERS-2 were captured by @heospace for @spacegovuk using cameras on board other satellites.

Today is International Women and Girls in Science Day.
The #ICSC Italian Research Center wants to celebrate and remember all female researchers who have made and are making contributions to the development of the fields of #HPC#BigData and #QuantumComputing 💻👩🔬

Still together, but not for long. Flight teams on Earth have given the GO for undocking.
The @SpaceX Dragon spacecraft is about to detach from the @Space_Station.

The Earth Cloud Aerosol and Radiation Explorer, or EarthCARE for short, was developed to shed new light on the complex interactions between clouds, aerosols and radiation within the Earth’s atmosphere
🚀#Ariane6 first launch is now targeted between mid June and end of July 2024!
With the latest test complete, Ariane 6 has been through the essential rehearsals required for qualification. We have validated our models, increased our knowledge of operations and are now confident for our first launch period for Europe’s new heavy-lift launcher. A huge thank you for the dedication, expertise and hard work from all the teams involved who have often been working in shifts non-stop to get this far, we are looking forward to seeing Ariane 6 soar.

Vedo doppio?

#EuclidChallenge 🔎 In Euclid’s view of the Horsehead Nebula, scientists hope to find many dim, Jupiter-mass planets in their celestial infancy such as the one highlighted in the second image.
